Old Smokey got some rust protection on 7.3.

When I first got F350 in 2008, at 389k, it had the typical fuel leaks in the valley. Easily remedied. Power washed the chassis, and not a stitch of paint anywhere. 3 or 4 cans of gloss black from Home Depot speed and marine did a decent job for a wore out work truck. 625+k on it now. More reliable than a brick.

Bought mine in 04 with 28k. At 162k now. Mostly used for tow and snow duties.

Had an engine fire in 2013 towing heavy through NM in the middle of the night. Dealer raped my insurance Company for $26000 in damage. She was nearly perfect before that happened.

She's pretty clean for living outside and on a dirt road her entire life.

I had an early 99 superduty 7.3L. Stock it had trouble passing on rice with a trailer. I put a tune on it and that made a huge difference.

No tuner here.
Just the facts.
Also have a C30 dually. 454/auto.
The job is in Irvine. I'm outside of Bullhead city. Mostly commuting.
During the Obama years, the C30 would take $500 in fuel, and sometimes that's not quite enough. The job paid $850. There's still supplies on top of that. A losing proposition.
Beat to shit 7fuckin3 F350 cut that by 2/3rds. Buck sixty in fuel. The numbers don't lie. Big difference in take home pay. After 250k+ trouble free miles, that truck doesn't owe me a fukkin thing. And was beat like a rented mule.

What did you use for that?
Power wash, simple green, wire wheel. Scotch Brite, some more simple green, scrubbing and power wash.
Just some thinned down Rustoleum oil brushed on and sprayed in a few spots.
It holds up ok. Easy to do.
