We got the "can't do without" food. How about food items you wouldn't eat if you were an Ethiopian named Starvin' Marvin with flies on your face.

Ovaltine.

Our parents bought it 'cause it was supposed to be better for us than Nestle's Quick. We tried it ONCE and then it sat in the back of the cupboard for the next 20 years. Crystalized and hard as a rock.

I think my mom still has the same jar from when I was 8 and almost puked when she made me try it.

Went to a really nice Italian restaurant in Japan (believe it or not, the Japanese do great Italian food). In addition to the normal Italian fare that you'd expect, they also had:
- Horse carpacio (think sliced raw horse)
- Chicken tartar (raw chicken)
- Deep fried American bullfrog

I can only imagine what gets eaten in third-world countries.

Of the things mentioned I actually do like: Ovaltine (doctored with sugar and vanilla flavor), Tang, powdered milk (even with Ovaltine in it ), lima beans, liver, Brussel's sprouts (if they are firm cooked rather than mush) and for don't likes: I don't like corned beef much either but could probably eat it if I was hungry enough and all the rest that's been mentioned so far even starving I couldn't be convinced to even try any of it; I'm thinking not even at gunpoint. I'd just starve on with my bad self. Gag reflex is just too hard to overcome.

I'll add another thing I wouldn't eat even if I was starving - apple cinnamon flavored breakfast cereals and I love most breakfast cereal, I love apples, I f'love cinnamon but there's no way in hell I can eat apple cinnamon cereal it turns my stomach even thinking of that flavor in my mouth. It's. Just. Gross.

I like ginger ale and gingersnap cookies, but strong ginger in any other way typically makes me physically gag so it's unlikely I could eat straight ginger even if I was starving. Onions neither for that matter - gag reflex issues (that one's a texture thing; if it's pureed or finely minced in food it's fine but otherwise nope nope)!

Malto Meal....

When I was about 12 y/o my dad (recently divorced and now had to "cook made me a nice big bowl of Malto meal topped with butter and half a cube of butter.....To this day I think its disgusting

He also loved steamed okra and asparagus. We had many battles at the table growing up where I refused to eat my veggies and gagged.

Oddly I do like grilled crunchy asparagus these days and last year I asked my mom why she served that can shit. She said thats what my parents served her and she didn't know how to cook and would never eat that today....lol She said she was sorry for some of the crap she made me eat...:bash::skull

Other than that I'm not very picky eater and will try anything once.

Man I like all most everything. Seriously. I guess that rotten shark meat in Iceland and Gledafish or whatever in Mn., but most stuff I will try and lots of stuff listed here I love. LOL I guess it's to each his own.
