Any must do's for me and the fam. (13 and 15 YO Sons and smoking hot wife). We are into out doors stuff. We have a couple of days before we head to West Yellowstone for 3 nights then probably Jackson Hole for 2 nights then Park City for 3 more nights. Struggling with what to do in SLC.

Maybe have a Mormon wedding or two and have a couple of wives to take back home. You can never have to many hot women in your home.

Jackson is pretty boring, three days at yellowstone is pushing it, its a very large park..I would stay one more day at yellowstone then drive down to jackson and spend one night. if your into outdoors check into camping near the marina in the park, its cheap and central, if you stay in west yellowstone you have to drive way in and out of the park everynight and there isnt much in that little town anyway

My Smokin' Hot Wife is very camera shy and even more internet shy :grumble: so .... no pics :D

Also, one Smokin' Hot Wife is plenty. Less drama :D

As to W Yellowstone, that's just the way it works best for us. We love to hike, bike, raft, etc but not much for staying in a tent for days. Of course we waited so late to book this trip the everything decent in the park was sold out.

I thought 3 days in Yellowstone would be ideal. I know a guy that just spent 20+ days hiking and camping.... That's hardcore.

Our plan was to raft the Snake in Jackson, stay a night or two and finish the trip in Park City. Maybe rent a boat on Bear Lake too.

smoking hot wife

We congratulate you but request you post proof. We won't share it with anyone :D

Suggestions for SLC:

1. Bring booze
2. Get out of town ASAP

Take your wife (and kids) to see the big titties (Grand Tetons) - very nice there too.

I about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City and love all the jokes about Utah! Most of them are probably true too. I have always said that when you get to Utah, simply set your watch back about 20 years and you'll be about right!

As for a couple of days in this part of Utah, since you are into the outdoor thing, I would recommend the cave tour at Mt Timpanogos. It's in American Fork canyon which is about 20 miles south of Salt Lake City. It's about $10 a person and you should get there in the morning while it is cool. You climb a paved trail about 1800 vertical feet up and about a mile and a half long. Take lots of bottled cold water because there is none at the top to buy. After your climb which frankly puts a workout on the adults but will be no problem for your kids, you go into the cave where
there is a guided tour done by the USFS. It takes about an hour to do the cave tour and some of the scenery is unbelievable in there. The temp inside is constant about 50 degrees? Then the walk back down the paved trail. I've never met anyone that made the effort to go there -reget it, the kids will love it and so will you and your wife. I would plan on about 5 to 6 hours for the entire event. Although you are way up in elevation and in the hills, you're only about a half hour back to your hotel in Salt Lake City.

Good luck and have fun while you're here. I also noted that you mentioned some days in Park City, plan on going to the zip ride and the Alpine slide, they're both alot of fun and have incredible scenery. For lunch, a friend of mine named Rick Smith owns Main Street Pizza and Pasta which has great affordable food right downtown Park City.

Have fun, Utah is quiet and mostly peaceful with real nice people here but most that come here really enjoy it.

Keith, Thanks. I read about that cave thing. I'm all in on that one. Still trying to sell it to SmokinHotWife :grumble: She said if we're hiking all over Y/S why do that hike.... BECAUSE IT'S A CAVE! How cool is that! :D

We are planning the zip line and alpine slide thing. Got some Mtn Bikes reserved. I hear there is a trail 1/2 way up Park City Mtn that goes for 21 miles and not too challenging. I have to remember to take it easy on them. I'd be all in on the 21 :champagne:

I'd do the Sunday brunch first. You'll need the walk afterwards!!! A lot of really good food!!! They usually have to roll me out afterwards.

A fun one for the kids would be to head up to Park City.. Wife can hit the Outlet stores and take the kids out on the Alpine Slide,, basically a concrete luge run with wheeled sleds.. lots of fun.

There is also a working silver mine you can go up into. At the end of the day, come back up over the top of the mountain (Guardsman Pass) and back out Big Cottonwood canyon.. pretty drive and lots of lakes around there to check out.

Would it worth renting a boat on any of these lakes?

Jordanelle is up that way,, it's an ok lake. Deer creek resevoir is about the same. Nothing really fantastic though. I think Deer Creek has rentals right there at Island Park launch ramp..
