Looking at some new flooring - hardwood, engineered hardwood, or _____?

Need about 2,000 sq ft. 1,500 sq ft will be installed on a raised foundation and 500 on a new addition/slab.

With 3 kids under 7 I want and need something durable. No pool.

Have some cheapo laminate now and I want hardwood but have heard kids can be tough on it.

My allowance is $3 PSF but am willing to come out of pocket.

I’m thinking about Vinyl Plank Flooring... based on research it’s durable if you go with the thicker “surface” .... hoping for a Havasu connection.... based on some pricing... $3 square ft, and $3 sqft to install.... I’ll probably install myself

Thanks. My wife wants LVP. Would install myself as well but it’s in the contractors scope so.... saves me the hassle.

Rigid vinyl flooring. We tossed it in the house and I’m putting it in my bus. It’s bulletproof and within your budget. We chose the life proof Home Depot brand.

I'm doing about 2000sqft of reclaimed solid oak. Pre finished. Pretty cool stuff but about $10sqft.
