I don't ride, but follow it closely. I have friends that race at Perris. The Eddy Mulder race at Willow is one of my favorite weekend's of the year.

Looks like fun Tyler! When did you get the new bike?

As a youngster, I would go to Ascot Friday nights to watch Sammy Tanner on the half mile. I never raced but did play around on the TT track at Saddleback.

A buddy of mine raced back in the day, he used #3 for most of his career.

Ive always wanted to try it. Have done one race on a quad on ice.
My old man did Flat Track and Speedway in the mid 60s through the 70s. Started out on Triumphs and Jawas.

Awesome. Where is the track in Porterville? I raced Tulare a couple times about 100 years ago.

My Dad did for a couple of years at a small local track. It was great fun until he bent his knee 90 degrees sideways hooking an imperfection in the track.

That kind of ended his run and many other things in life.

Love seeing the action shots!! Good luck, and post some action shots of yourself on the new ski - I hope you use it with a huge grid while you ride!!!!

Love it !
The only thing better than a k boat turning left is a flattrack motorcycle.
I was lucky enough to watch my uncle throughout his pro career on the flattrack & road races across America.
Ascot, San Jose mile,Peoria, daytona beach, etc.
I watched him run against o’l number 3 many times.
My grandfather was also the lead wrench in Indy cars for Billy Vulkovich (sp) when he went over the wall on that fateful day.

To me, flattrack motorcycle racing is the purest form of Americana..
nothing better

Cool history about you and your Grandfather!
I was at San Jose when KR ran the Tz. The same day, I believe it was Danny Hocking on the CB-750 powered flat tracker.

KR was quoted, "They don't pay me enough to ride this thing" or something to that effect. :D

I normally ride a modern Honda 450, although after riding a vintage bike it has me thinking of building something. The Photo below is at Paso Robles Fairgrounds over the summer.

Awesome. Where is the track in Porterville? I raced Tulare a couple times about 100 years ago.
the track in Porterville is out near the cotton fields just out of town, and Ive heard plenty of stories about the cushion from the track that once was in Tulare, I'm just here to try to keep once was still alive.

My son raced for several years at Perris, starting in the 50cc class, until he was about 14 or so. He won the championship in 2014 in the novice 100cc fourstroke, and 85cc two stroke classes. The following year he was bumped up to the next group, and had a few bad wrecks. One of which he hit his head pretty bad. At about this time, he developed Tourette’s syndrome, and had trouble controlling his body, and it was starting to effect his racing. So, we pulled the pin on his racing program, and stick to woods riding. It is one hell of an awesome sport, the racers are one huge family, and you’ll see four generations of racers on the track on any given night.

This brings back memories of watching the bikes race during the 70s at Speedway Park, a banked 3/8 mile clay oval in Albuquerque. They ran every Friday night, and the fans filled the stands every week.

Those guys twisted the throttle and kept it pinned, sparks flying from their hot shoes and geysers of dirt lifted by the spinning rear tire as they roared around the dimly lit track.

What a show.

Just the other night I was watching KR ride the TZ on the Indy mile.
