Damm carpenters thinking they know what Millwright tight is. :D don't forget to make the torque wrench click sound when you tighten it so you know its set at the right ft lbs.

I know my millwright tight is about 90lbs more than yours :p I’ve been waiting a long time to say that to someone who would understand :)

Do you know what spot tight is?

Looks like the bravo just needs a hub.
That’s the word I was looking for. I want to go buy a kit but thought it would sound funny if I went in asking for the “prop innerds kit” :p

There is what comes in a Mercruiser hub kit. It installs in the order shown above. You can re use the hub that is in your current prop without issue. Be sure to add a little grease to everything, especially if it is a new prop and new hub.

Brass thrust washer on the right goes on the prop shaft. It probably wont come off with the prop. Be sure you run that thrust washer with your Hydromotive prop.

Black plastic block goes into the back of the prop. Put it into the prop with the 4 notches you see in the ID facing the front of the prop.

Put prop on prop shaft.

Brass splined drive hub slides into the front of the prop, onto the splines of the prop shaft and into the black plastic block that is already in your prop.

Slide on lock washer in the direction shown above, and put on locknut. When tight, bend a couple tabs on the loch washer down so they catch on the brass drive hub.

I’ve been thinking about things a lot lately. My parents were never rich. Not even close. Many times they told me we couldn’t do this or that I I couldn’t have the nicest baseball cleats or newest redline bat. Financially you could say my wife and I do much better than our parents. But by 5 years old my dad had me playing every sport. There’s videos of me water skiing in Lake Tahoe at 5. I’ve kind of been dropping the ball. I’m really going to start saying no to overtime. Who cares if I get promoted this year or 5 years from now. I don’t think that’s anything I’m going to be talking about on my death bed. It’s time to start making memories with the people who care about me. Work doesn’t care about me they only care about what I can get done. I say fuck em

I have taken this attitude for a while now. I used to make really good money consulting, and doing side work. I know now, that the extra money is never a good replacement for a chance to spend time with my family. I have to remind my wife sometimes, that when im on my death bed, im not going to be telling her I wish I painted the bathroom again or something silly like that. Find that balance...

I didnt run the prop before i labbed it but that was partially because I didn’t think it would work well. Thinking about it I should have just tested it anyways. Today it didnt have much a difference, if any on the top end. I didn’t really run it wide open but I got to around 4800 rpm and 68mph. I could probably get a little more. I noticed a big difference in my cruising speeds. And it handled a lot better around the docks. Tomorrow I’ll try a hydromotive 26p and see how that runs

25p :p
Which Hydromotive?

Has a 26p intimidator that’s been labbed and cut by Bronson on there now, it’s a 25p actually after all the work according to them. I’m real curious how it’ll work on a V in comparison how it worked on my boat which is a cat.
As well lesson 101 and Vic passed his midterm so he’s a prop swapping pro now lol.

I don’t know why I’m so weird about getting out of my comfort zone. Just talked to the guys at hydromotive and they are super nice. They told me to go run some props get some numbers and they will help dial me in. I always feel like I’m wasting peoples time but they seemed excited to help

I plan on keeping the props I have and getting a few more though. If the boat likes this one maybe I can buy it :p

Leave it alone and enjoy it after this.
In all honesty it would be fine if I didn’t touch it after this. I’m right at 70 and can cruise 45 at 3500 rpm. I think that’s pretty decent for what we do.

Hardly ever run past 50-55 much. Usually cruise right at 3k about 40. I would like to try a quad 4x also.

What prop were you running to start with?

Vic, That lock tab isn't on right!! The nut needs to be indexed flat on flat.
