Here's mine. The first is as I built it when we did the addition. The others are of the in-progress and finished product when I remodeled it.

One of my last projects is the fireplace. Trying to get some ideas. Let’s see what you’ve got. Stone with a timber mantle is the game plan so far

You plan on putting a TV above it?

Here is the before and after of ours. Jeff did it himself. He even built the mantel and shelves. Couldn't see paying $800 for a mantel, so we bought some white oak, he distressed it and installed it. Came out so fabulous. First time doing any stonework, so mistakes were made, but only a mason would notice, most likely. Our plan was to eventually put in some cabinets below with a built-in wine cooler on each side, but as you guys know, we sold the house.

Well a little advise from when I did mine. Rum hdmi cables very long at each end. Don't try to make it all trick with plates that the hdmi cables plug into behind the TV. Thats what I did and I have connection problems. Even better if you have some sort of conduit. Also behind the TV where it mounts to the wall I didn't put stone there but left an area hidden by the TV blank and doubled up some plywood so that way you didn't have to find studs to mount your TV. Just some lags into the plywood.

I have conduits and 2 hdmi cables back there. I didn’t have the room for plywood but that is solid advice

It used to be green, just like the wall. We added the stone a few months ago.
No gas in our neighborhood so there is a propane tank outside for it.

Looks like we copied "warped71" but I built this one about 31 years ago.
Added the wood stove insert about 25 years ago.

I very impressed with the RDP crowd on here, we are at the end of September and looking at the fireplace phots on here a lot of people have the Christmas spirit. The countdown to Christmas has already begun and the Christmas Spirit Fills the Air.

Never got around to the built-ins before selling this house.

We're in the design stage of the new house and trying to determine what we're doing for the new fireplace. Decisions, decisions.

How far does the fireplace wall pop out ? Looks nice. Want to do something like this in new basement.
It pops out 18". It wasn't necessary for it to be that much, as the electric fireplace isn't that deep, but I didn't want it to just look like a stack of rocks up against the wall 😆 To me, this gives it more of an actual fireplace look - plus then it created spaces for the consoles.

Got my fireplace almost wrapped up. Just need to repaint the face. The blue tape peeled the paint right off. Otherwise the stone came out decent
