I was talking to a co-worker who lives up in riverside estates and i guess the wind changed and the plume diminished, and i mistook that for the fire dying down

Drove up the hill before sunset to get a better look. Unfortunately this could happen to many of our neighborhoods that hot wind today around 1-2pm was brutal.

My neighbor is a teacher at Hemet High, It’s south of helmet high school and east of Diamond valley lake. The High School was looking for trucks with a gooseneck last night to help move livestock. I’m in Menifee and reached out to help but I only have a fifth wheel.

There is a portion of Old Topanga Canyon and Topanga Canyon that have not burned in 120 years, the over growth is incredible. If it goes up people will die in there.

Hopefully since they appear to be making good progress on the Radford Big Bear Lake fire, they can provide more air resources to this bad boy.
This one is unfortunately not cooperating and they're losing this battle more each day.
If they don't get a handle on this by Tomorrow afternoon, shit could get real fucky Friday when the big east wind from TS Kay fires up.

I read that as well. That came from an SCE trouble report from the area of the start around the same time. I suppose they question the investigators will determine is was the trouble report the origin or an initial causality ?
I noticed on the cams earlier the fire was rather laid down, but then it's frustrating when during this temporary condition, there's no helos or aircraft to be found. Two small tankers just arrived at around 10AM --- Now two helos, but they've not been there long. Why so late to the party ?
I have no idea and certainly not qualified to access why. Just stuff you notice and ponder when it seems like first light would be the time to pounce.
Oddly, first tankers just arrived on scene up north at the Mosquito fire as well, not a bird in the sky all morning when it seems conditions would be optimal ??
