finding out who owns a website...can anyone help?

I have tried all of the standard ways of tracking it down with no luck. I can only find who is hosting it.

Also need to find out the real name/address for someone that is on social media but I can't find much.

you can use the WHOIS search on ICANN. Unfortunatly a lot of people use anonymizers now. While this only tells you the info of who registered the domain. You COULD try to get sneaky and say you're a company who wants to buy the domain for 250k or some fictitious number to see if you can pump some real info out of the masked email address

Outside of that, you could track down the IP block, find out who owns that block, and have a lawyer subpoena the company to provide the data (obviously way involved and typically only done during criminal investigations).

You mentioned social media, you'd have a lot better luck tracking that down. I'd suggest using google reverse image searches, sometimes you can find other sites / info that come up. There are some forensic IT PI's you can hire if its worth it to you. Outside of that, there are also hackers for hire who could attempt to get into the social media accounts.

There really is no good way to get the info you're looking for.

This is for a family member that is having a professional issue with someone slandering a company. I think there are several people all ties to the same person and I have found a bunch of info but it seems the person I am trying to find is kind of a ghost. (Like they don't exist...lol)

Typical issue, there is little recourse unfortunately. You might be able to make some headway with a corporate lawyer but who knows if its worth it in the long run.

Hire a Private investigator that specializes in this type of investigation. Worth the money to have a pro deal with it in short time.
