My buddy has a house on the CA. side about 1/2 a mile down river from WV. There is a nice big rock bar by his house that many don't know thats there. :yikes I won't boat up to see him due to the rocks. I just meet him at Moabi. :)

Well its been a year since I bought the boat! And It has been a great experience so far! Thousands of dollars on getting transom replaced! Thousands of dollars spent this summer going to river almost every weekend! Destroyed the Skeg three times! Oh well.

Motor has run strong all year and haven't had any mechanical issues! (Knock on wood)

But the memories I have made are all worth it.

I'm at crossroads here.

Do I spend more money to get the sound system upgraded, chips and dings repaired on fiberglass, trailer redone? (Ocd kicking in)

Or

Just save for a bigger boat that has everything I want already?

You can get the trailer done for about $2k and a nice trailer will help when you decide to sell. I would do the work so that way it is in top shape when you go to sell. You won't get the money spent out of it, but it may sell faster once you do decide to upgrade.

Tough decision. What would be your reason for selling? A sound system can be upgraded and a trailer can be painted for all for a few thousand dollars. But you still don't get a bigger boat, which is what I'm assuming your looking at. You could also upgrage the interior in your current boat and get a whole new feel out of it, but that's probably 4k to 5k.

We were at that point two years ago. Got a bigger boat, but we still miss the Carerra.

It is all a personal choice. I didn't really need a bigger boat, bigger trailer, bigger garage, big block engine when what I had was just the right size.

I voted to fix her up. If you do fix the 20.5 up, you will most likely be under water financially given what you spend, but if it is what you want and if you will use it, who cares.

With respect to props, I run a 13.5 by 23 three bladed stainless on my 21 foot sleek with a 260.

Good luck either way and enjoy the family time.

Anyone recommend a good shop that will do maintenance on the boat. Boat is currently stored in Needles, but willing to drive to Havasu. I heard premier is good in needles but can't ever get a hold of them.

Had read the old post...hope you had great luck with repairs so far. It is Boating..thousands will be spent but like you said the memories are great for a lifetime.

Flat top marine in havasu...chris is a great guy has been doing my boat for 3 years now. Also does Rvrrat350s boat and has helped him out of a jam on the weekend a couple times. Great prices also very reasonable and honest guy.
