Design department, lolI've noticed Eliminators seem to have more black and red in their gel schemes than other builders. At least, that's how it seems to me.
Is there a reason for that? Is that your gel guy's preference or maybe someone in the design department who likes those colors?
You guys also seem to have "smoother" schemes that are more dramatic and maybe even a little more class and a touch less bling than pretty much anything else I've seen.
Is this just my impression or am I onto something?
Here?s another 27?, a Daytona that?ll be getting a 572 Chevy Gate Motor!
The 1050 Holley Dominator is the best for the ZZ572, installed in a boat. The 850 Demon is OK for a streetcar.
hundreds of 427 & 454 LS6 crate BBC engines went into boats from my friend's shop in the 70's and 80's.
Can't recall failures with proper break-in periods followed!
There's a crate engine in this boat.
Just curious why you say a 1050 dominator is best for that motor? Is that what GM recommends? What did they use on it to get their claim of 620hp and 650 ft lbs? I'm making more power than that with a single 850 Holley hp series and spinning my motor to 6000rpms. Although my motor is only a 496. But I haven't seen a dyno sheet on the GM 572 to see where it makes it's power.

True, timeless colors. For the most part customers pic their own colors and graphics by providing a loose sketch, pics of other boats they want blended together or point at graphics on another boat in the shop and plug in their own colors. At one time they had a guy doing computer renderings( that I found to be a complete pain in the ass to duplicate),but he is gone.I believe it is because they are timeless colors. A good example is Fountain, if you look at 2, early 90s late 80s fountains. One with the trendy turquoise or the other that is all red. The red boat still looks relevant.
Haven't used one in a few years now, except for that giant Schiada job earlier this year..I'm still amazed at how the tapers can look at a photo or drawing and laydown the right mix of tape and paper for you guys to spray...
Corrected #'s? Or real #'s..

Djunkie, we didn't dyno this engine [ it's for a commuter , not for a dragboat] but I found the engine ran too lean for my liking with the 850 Demon. I always go by spark plug colour after a WOT run.Boat ran good with lean condition, but we wanted this engine to last for years. My buddy runs it almost every weekend to his Vancouver Island place!
Djunkie , didn't take it as a slam on my opinion at all. I've always used 850 CFM carbs on big block 454 GM or 460 Ford .Found the smaller CFM carbs recommended by Holley, really only worked fine for cars not boats.
Carburator volumetric efficiency is what Holley basing their CFM recommendation, and it applies well for cars, not boats they're constantly on a hill climb IMHO.
BTW, my friend had a 22 Schiada like yours back in the early 70's, with a crate LS6. It was custom built for him. He's was the faster colour [ yellow] hehe.
