Is anyone planning on being near the needles strip area on Father’s Day weekend? Friday morning to Sunday. Just seeing if anyone is nearby. We have vessel assist. And, have learned from our mistakes of not throwing an anchor first- but it would be nice to have a little peace of mind knowing someone on the river.

Im debating whether to keep our slip for the weekend in the havasu marina or just have it at the beach in front of the home. Boat should be ready to go. We may have family with a boat in needles, but we aren’t sure yet. We tend to do one day at 3 dunes/springs and another in the gorge area. My dad and Roberts cousin will be in the havasu area with their boats.

My anxiety is telling me to keep the boat in havasu with another boat until we have a successful weekend without issues. We can just drive the truck back and forth to the marina daily. We can save $120 of marina fees keeping it at the house, but I have learned gel coat is much more expensive.

If we do keep it at needles, whoever wants to run up to topock-breakfast and drinks will be on us! It’s the very least we can do. Or, if you want to do a springs run, breakfast and lunch is on us.

Wife and I will be out that weekend. We are at River Terrace just south of the needles bridge. No need for breakfast, we can run down there with you and make sure you get there then peel off if you don't find anyone else. Not much of a breakfast on the water type of guy. We launch out of Jack Smith. Usually run down to sand bar in the morning and find a beach on the az side in the early afternoon.

Thank you. Appreciate it a lot. We are at Colorado shores-ca side- I think river terrace is right across the river from the house. We are right by jack smith. Will keep this updated as it gets closer and hopefully the boat is fixed by then.

@Livewire Fabworks it is looking like we are going to have family with us in needles so we are good. Thanks again for offering the help.
We'll be out there but are much more north of you, up by Willow Valley. We had a similar incident happen to us last time out. We had an issue with the tank selector and it got stuck in the middle of the tanks. Nearly had a similar outcome but luckily we had some help just in time. I think we have it remedied, but will be cautious again this weekend to see. Best of luck!

That's always our rule! Head north to make sure everything's working well. What street are you on?
We do that as well. The fuel pump wanted to die at random on us. I still can’t believe we made it from jack smith to the springs before it acted up again. We really thought it was good to go. We are testing it on Friday in havasu all day so we should be safe from the stronger current and rocks 😂

Won't be up this weekend but would be glad to cruise with you another time.

Theres some good advise above - head up river a few times to shake-down the boat and make sure its all good. Keep an eye on water level / rock bars though!

Might want to bring an extra oar with you, 2 people paddling can really help get the boat over to a beach, or away from the rocks if needed.

A large box anchor with pre-attached line would be good to keep handy, toss that sucker over if your having issues well ahead of getting swept over to the side of the river.

Good luck!

We're on the corner of King and Canadian.
You should be able to see the back of our place from you house. We are just past the water tank. If there is an gray 03 Chevy 2500 or a white Genesis GV70 there stop by for a beer.
