Never display gun like a tough guy. This is what happens when you approach a guy who will use one to defend themselves.

Shooter only saw gun in right hand he had no idea rager moved it to his left hand then lifted his right arm so he fired. Justified imo.

Call me odd, but that's 2 dumb people with guns. One brought the gun to start a fight, and the other is on video shooting someone that didn't bring the gun to draw. Going to be lawyers making money, wrongful death suit, maybe even criminal charges depending on local DA. Not a good outcome for either.

I hate it for the perps family but he got what was coming. If I owned guns, which I don’t, I would carry not because I’m looking for a fight but because I want to be left alone. Unfortunately this guy brought the fight to the disagreement.

Someday I’ll own guns and not do what this guy did 😉

The crazy thing for me, was before carrying I was a hot head and always ready to rage. Now that I carry, I do everything to avoid a confrontation, Im much more chilled in situations. I will do anything and everything to avoid a fight.

Having known a guy that spent everything to not go to jail, I just think the shooter's going to be spending a lot of time in court. Locking eyes and shouting, doesn't let you know where the gun is. The jackass is never the threat, the gun is.
Yes he will have legal fees.

Not many jury’s will expect someone to wait and see if they will be alive to shoot second.

He will win no doubt, but it will cost him.

That's crazy footage!

Road rage is the most asinine thing. I'm no religious man, but road rage always reminds me of the bible verse, "ye without sin, cast the first stone". No need to get so riled up over people driving stupid, especially if someone just made a stupid mistake.

I’m the same way. I wasn’t ever a hot head but the avoiding a confrontation carrying definitely resonates with me.

Unless it’s life or death it stays concealed.

Guy in truck already knows rager is armed. He gets his door punched guy is already crazy and again truck guy knows he has gun.

Safe to say guy in truck is keeping eye on right arm and didn’t know it him was moved to left arm as he can’t see it. So as soon as he saw right arm ride he felt the threat right then.

At anytime the rager could have fired through the door as well. I personally would have fired earlier myself and not risk waiting for a cool down. Guy has gun in hand and is punching door and threatening.

I carry too and when it comes to road stuff I tend to be calmer about it to avoid something like this.

Hopefully he’s a member of the NRA…… Supposedly your membership will help provide representation in these circumstances. I hope to never have to find out, but from what I understand, you get some help from them.

I beg to differ. The gun isn't the threat. It's the jackass holding it. The gun is just an object. Like a rock or a shovel.

Yes, and one of my more strict rules is to not be hit with either of those either 🤣 I can tell you by experience, never lose sight of a claw hammer in the hands of a pissed off roofer. The idiot holding the tool is only perceived as dangerous because of the tool. Haven't had a gun drawn on me in years, but no holes in me, and no notches on my grips, so I must've chosen well then. Nowadays, I just try to avoid any situation which could escalate to needing those types of decisions. Then, I was no pillar of the community, now, I just avoid civilization if possible.

You jump out of your car to confront another driver with a gun in your hand. I'm not waiting to find out "IF" you are going to use it. Absolutely stupid, and the other driver who shot him is 100% justified.

Guy points gun at “other guy”, “other guy” shoots guy pointing gun at him.
Looks like a classic case of “Fuck around and find out” to me.
I didn't see the gun get pointed, just brandished. That said, I don't know if he has a duty to have it pointed at him in order to act. Angry guy with gun in hand comes over to confront, man that's a tough split second decision. On the outside looking in, I don't think it was going to escalate. But in the shooter's position? Man, that's a different story.

USCCA is what I carry
I would also look into https://firearmslegal.com/ their program is relatively similar to USCCA, with the exception of they do not provide "compensatory damages liability coverage" that USCCA does. Their perception is that the $2mil in liability will invite a lawsuit from bottom feeder attorneys when a lawsuit may not otherwise have been brought.

I’m the same way. I wasn’t ever a hot head but the avoiding a confrontation carrying definitely resonates with me.

Unless it’s life or death it stays concealed.

There are quite a few rights that I am willing to die/kill for. The "right of way" is not one of them.

Driver has already been released, after consulting with the prosecutors office. Police are calling it self defense ( which it absolutely was). First mistake was getting out of his car. Second mistake was doing so with a gun in hand.

Not really brandishing. Looks and sounds to me like the dead guy took a poke at the truck driver with the gun in his hand. If he touched him, that's assault with a weapon.
I expect this is why the driver was let go so quick.

Can't speak to IN state law, but my understanding of AZ state law is that the deceased committed Aggravated Assault.

Assault statute 13-1203
A. A person commits assault by:
2. Intentionally placing another person in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury;

Aggravated Assault Statute 13-1204
A. A person commits aggravated assault if the person commits assault as prescribed by section 13-1203 under any of the following circumstances:
2. If the person uses a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.

Fun fact, an still an aggravated assault if it was a fake gun: 11. If the person uses a simulated deadly weapon.

One of the comments in the IG post said the guy in the truck had his family in there as well.

No charges filed on the video one from what I read. 100% justified

This AM about 4:30 I was filling my tanks up. I had to put in about 125G so I was there for a while. Nobody around at the gas station and a van comes in real slow and I hear stuff falling over in the van. Two guys in the van....they kind of circle where I am and then pull inches from the passenger side of my truck. I opened my drivers door where I had a "baseball bat" and kept my eyes on them. I also opened the back door for my pup to come out if needed. They slowly backed up and just sat in the van. I never took my eyes off them. About 5 minutes later a big semi comes in for beer delivery. They get out to go over to help them out. I was prepared and aware of them from the time they came around the corner. Why they thought it was a good idea to get that close to my truck before backing up at that time in the AM is baffling. Fuckers

It’s Indiana, everyone has a gun on their person. You don’t need a permit to conceal carry so carry they do. Indy has a lot of violent crime too. Not surprised at all he didn’t get charged.
I have a family member that’s the sweetest little lady you’ve ever seen and she keeps the Governor in her car. lol
