So I built this car for a buddy of mine , it was a seven year after work project that we were able to hide during a divorce! I put alot of my heart in this build and was extremely happy and proud of my accomplishments.
I built nearly 600 hand made parts and brackets for this Willys Gasser. The frame I built and many other cool little touches. You will see no key spot in this vehicle as most of my builds have a hidden starting method that is right in front of your face! This one has a somewhat floating console with all needed switches located within reach while being locked in a four point belt. The ignition switch is dressed up to appear to be the parachute pull switch . Any way my buddy is super happy and has now been collecting trophies for 2 years.

A couple things that most do not notice is every piece of tubing that has a unattached end has been turned down and capped to match the moon tank !

A few other things to note , I didnt want to put a full cage in it for fear of hitting your head on it without a helmet. But I did add a very stout seat and mid rollbar mount that holds all the belts and the bolts to the fiberglass body.

They dont make a cool top for the Dart tunnel ram tall deck block so I made a pattern to cast my version and it turned out pretty cool, what they give you is a flat piece of 1/4 aluminum to mount carbs to.

And I hid the gasket surface as well

You have the wrong view...be inspired! That work is amazing, no doubt. Looking at the pics, the intake really caught my eye. Odd, couldn't put my finger on why...then saw the statement about casting the new lid and hiding the gasket surface

Years ago, I was sitting on a bench at the Grand National with two pretty respected builders...one is a friend. We were commenting on a high end build, how much was done that didn't stand out, but took massive effort. Unless you knew that model of car well, you wouldn't even notice. That's the stuff that puts a car, and a builder, far ahead of us mortals. Chopping the lid 6" is an obvious thing. 1-2? Same effort, changes the look, but you may not notice why it looks different.

Details are amazing on that build @Travmon . The more you look, the more you see....
