Anyone have a lifted or leveled 450? And if so how does it drive and what size tires are you running? I just picked up this 11 yesterday 81k miles it was my USCG buddies truck that died of cancer his wife asked if I wanted it and I couldn't say no. He just spent 15k having the motor bullet proofed

My 15’ was flawless. Sold it 5 years later with minimal miles for $1000 less than I purchased it for, great truck.

I know the turbo was an issue pre 2015. What’s to bulletproof on the 2011?

Honestly I'm not sure there is an issue with the 6.7 in the 2011 truck and it was 15k to fix it and bullet proof it

Your truck is an 18? And you are saying do not put 22s? What size wheels would you recommend? Did you do a level or lift?

It’s my friends truck. He recently converted to 18s and it rides so much better. Currently got the Icon lift kit.

I highly recommend the Carli lift kit.

I put a 4" lift on mine.
Kept the factory wheels but increased the tire size to 285x70r19.5.

I didn't run the tires at 125psi, (85psi front and 75psi rears if I remember

correctly) and it rode VERY nice.

That’s an early 6.7. Some will say they are junk, some will say they are perfect. If I own it I’m going to delete it, mild HP tune, TCM tune, and driving it! In my opinion those trucks are VERY solid without all the emissions shit on them!

Is $15K in repairs normal under 100K miles with these?

That's one of those weird F450s that has 17" wheels instead of 19.5" wheels. I can only guess it would ride more like an F350 because of the 17" wheels. As for $15k in repairs, that's about the price to fix the fuel system when it grenades.

My father in law has an 11 f450 it smoked the stock turbo multiple times and ford always fixed it under extended warranty. When that ran out I talked him into deleting it and putting the updated turbo on it and has been solid since. 120k ish on it now and 99% towing 20k it has deffinately been a solid truck he loves it.

That's what I was thinking, hopefully they added the filter/bypass kit for when it happens again.

Maybe he had the stock CP4 fuel pump grenade which can cause a major issue with these trucks. It would be about 15k to repair that.

15K is high for the fuel rail alone. My cp3 and injectors, including dropping fuel tank was 8.5K and that was on a 16 F450 with 105K miles 2 years ago. Maybe they also did the turbo to get that #
