I have really got into watching F1 the last 5 years. If you haven’t been to a race to see how fast these cars are going it’s hard to put it into perspective on TV. These guys driving them are crazy
Been to TX twice, and Miami for its first F1...amazing to watch live... Remember Tx 21 I was at the end of the Paddock lounge at the start and watching Hamilton take 1st away from Verstappen at the first turn was amazing... Verstappen got him that day, but 2021 was an amazing season going to the final race all square..and then a controversial finish..

i will look to read what I can, Haas has a chance to bail and make a bunch of money, but he never seems to be interested, has had offers. He also has not been interested in doing what is necessary to become competitive, so I have no idea what he is up to. I would think he would go in phases, start selling chunks. Its a funny time to do so, its the first year he is not going into his own pocket at all for sponsorship.
I've heard from some credible sources that Gene has some major health issues, hence the closure of Stewart/Haas and now selling the F1 team.

Watching Sam Collins analyze Hass new floor.
They’ve found a “major flaw” after China and have an entire new floor, with minimal wind tunnel testing, for this weekend.
He also did a tech run down on the apparent changes on RB21 supposed to make it more “drive able”?
Anyway, getting ready to watch replay of free practice 1&2 on the app.
Collins says Yuki matched Verstappen on acceleration and lap times within a tenth per lap.
I’ll have to see it to believe it. But it sounds like a promising start for him.

Last time I saw him in the paddock on tv, he did look really thin, and old. I noticed it and worried about his health. That would make sense.

The stories are true.
It’s still early, but with 26 minutes left in P1 it’s Russel, yuki, kimi, Max.
Too early to make any predictions, but that’s the first time in a LONG time I’ve seen both RB banners in the top 4 at any point of a weekend.

Massive hit for Jack Doohan.
Destroyed the car completely, walked away but man that was a hard hit.
Looks like he went into turn one with DRS still open and just flat spun at speed.

On a side note Been playing F1 2023 all week on PS5 and I can barely negotiate the track without any assists. 😳😱

Yuki kind of got short shafted in Q2.
Definitely not representative of his debut so far.
Still that was the time when he really needed to push.
$1 says he finishes in points tonight!😎

Holy Verstappen qualifying 😳

Guy is a machine!
He is truly one of a kind.
Out of all of them, Max is the one that can, as a driver, consistently overcome whatever deficiencies the car might have.
He’s in a league of his own.

Alot of the "deficiencies" that car has fo every other driver are actually features that have been developed into it to suit Max's style.

He likes an insanely pointy car. A decade of engineering has been built around his driving style. In hindsight this probably had a fair amount to do with Ricciardo jumping ship, he saw he was going to have to beat max in a car designed for Max, an impossible task.

Oh I get that. 😎

What I mean is that, like every other driver, he radios in with problems or things he’s not happy with. Typically for him it’s balance of some sort.
This weekend he said “the car feels weird, it’s flexing…”
But then he goes and sets track record. Lol

Nobody saw that coming.

Meanwhile down here in Baja the top 4 trophy trucks finished with about a minute separating them after 250 miles of knarly desert. Looking forward to Suzuka tonight.

Norris tried passing on the pit exit…
Max is like “wtf do you think you’re doing?”

Nobody passed anybody from what I can tell and that is why I don't generally watch unless I can fast forward.

If you ever listen to the raw feeds all the drivers are saying stuff like this. It the selective editing by the producers to generate drama as to what makes it to broadcast, which eventually becomes self serving.

It was egregious under the Hamilton years from 2014-2020 where every race was "tires are gone" and then he'd win, and the commentators were licking his nuts about how he won against all ofds with bad tires.... The tires weren't gone, but the audience thought they were 😆. Generate the drama.
