It was an EA-18G, technically an F-18, but used for Electronic surveillance among still being able to attack.

We have new pilots training out here in Havasu to replace those that keep wrecking expensive taxpayer planes.

… When I was really young, probably 1965 …did some work for the Marine Corps oddly enough…at the Naval Air Station that apparently the crashed plane was operating out of… pretty sure we were doing repair work on some radar screens that guided the B-52 bombers… on bombing missions into North Vietnam… The shit was so secret probably wasn’t supposed to know the purpose of the radar screens… But sneaky me read some engineering documents😳

What is going on with all these military crashes?
Sounds like pilot error on this one. If you zoom in on picture, both ejected already. Plane took a hot lap pilotless and lucky it went down in the water and not on land.

I'm looking at death ratio, fighter pilots vs possibilty the dozen or so for civilian casuality. I wouldn't want to live near airports for this reason. I love planes and used to go to watch them landing at the strip at the Vancouver International airport.
