I guess I’m missing something. 572 with a blower only makes 880 hp??

My pump gas 582 efi makes 850. No blower. A good 572 blown deal on pump gas should make all of 1000-1100 depending upon blower size and intercooler setup

That’s a pretty big pulley and he’s only turning the wick up to 7lbs on a 1472. Dude wants the looks and do it conservatively. Fuck all that, I’d let it rip.

Only spinning 5600 at peak HP.....and that blower doesn’t appear to be intercooled. Hot rod show / shine special with a nasty cackling tight lobe center cam and lightswitch throttle response. Has that nasty sound and surge everyone craves from a big roots drag motor. That torque hits hard down low and holds though....

I bet if they recammed it and spun it harder it would make the power you’d expect

Doesn’t Dave at DNE and others get 1000-1100 out of 540 single carbs?

Ya on there Dyno!!! Take it to Carson Brummets dyno and it’s 650 at best for a pump gas motor!!

Yes with lots of cam and compression

If I could have 100% dry exhaust and 12 to 1 compression with my 582 and not care about trying to get it to idle at 800 rpm to shift my drive. Then yeah 1000 all day

Car show special. Cool but needs an extra 700 hp to wow in the days of 1500 HP supercharged LS engines.

I love Tom nelson but that mill isnt blowing me away.

Id think a 1400 RPM idle, everything dry long and big in terms of exhaust and a big windmill on top it would do better.
My Na Boost Power 588 makes 840 ft/lb and idles around 800 RPM - not as flat as that but still.

To run on pump gas the time will be somewhere around 30. Any more and will need av gas. That's probably why only 800 hp. Add an intercooler and plan on another 200hp with that set up. Could be low boost. Pete Fleming built my 572 . Had only an 8-71 and 4lbs boost at 6100 pulled 810hp without intercooler. Told me 200hp with cooler sooo.

I have a mild Nelson engine in my Conquest. I was skeptical about the previous owner but I talked to Tom Nelson at the SEMA show and he remembered the guy and the motor.
