Posted before I finished it. Nothing to see really. I would delete the thread if I could.

I only watched about 5 minutes of it.

And I know I don’t want one of those.
So let’s not delete this and maybe someone doesn’t. Well.
Buy one of those.😎

The melted pistons is a real eye opener. At any rate I expected to see a failed oil pump belt with a seized engine however the pump was removed by whoever he bought it from.

There was a hole in the cylinder wall also which looks to be cut by a 35k psi injector.

This is the first version of this engine. Version 2 is a better choice based on all GM's changes.

I watched the entire video…
Eric thinks is was fuel related to melt the pistons. The most likely culprit was putting gas in a diesel engine, or the second culprit was a failing fuel injection pump.

One of the key items ons these engines… guess what the “core charge” is for the the block… $5000. Damn…

Watched the whole video also. I like diesels, but I can buy 5.3 & 6.2s for less than the core charge. I know Ford and many others use the belt driven oil pump, but I am just not comfortable with it.

There are a few threads on the belt driven pump that I might have beaten to death.
On that we agree.
