Your post reminded me of a medical vacuum system I installed at a hospital in the 80s. The accumulator tank had a removable hatch that I opened while starting up the machine, and discovered the overflow ball check. . . was a regulation Spaulding basketball.

😁

Lol that would not surprise me at all with some things i have seen as well!!

I walked up to a reciprocating compressor for lab air one time and they said it was making a loud slapping sound when running.
Well took the belt shroud off and they had most likely blown a belt and someone took a handful of big hvac zipties and made a belt but left the excess and it was slapping around inside the shroud.
I was surprised it was running actually

We could help you out haha hard to admit we deal with a lot of busch!!

But really if you need something we can help haha
The claw pumps are pretty reliable and efficient especially for our application.

That's commendable for large vacuum pumps. It's just a couple thousand hours less than continuous and uninterrupted 7 X 24 operation over nine years in a paired lead-lag arrangement.

Are they running at 3,600 RPM?

Yep they are on a constant rotation. 18-22”/16-22” pswitch settings, 7 minute minimum run timer and 15 minute forced alternation.

These were baldor motors instead of lafert, 6.5hp 460 3phase and i want to say yes we were at 3600rpm ha honestly forget to even check anymore.

I believe it 100% and that probably low! Pretty certain my kids will be following blue collar and trades over college as they grow up

We are super niche market and considered one of the largest at what we do in california with only 10 field techs.

Some more inside system we would work on as an employee.

These are our custom rental unit built on mobile carts with individual hmi control panels for high and low voltage. We also newly added sequencers to all our equipment so we can tie them together.

We have 5hp up to 25hp vac systems. Along with high temp hoses and flex lines to tie into existing house piping.

Also a nice friday service call for a pump/motor that blew a coupling into pieces! Also found loose set screws on the pump side coupling collar.
