Can’t believe this hasn’t been all over yet. Eliminator went true tunnel on the 255
From the birdie i heard it from it’s a whole new bottom not just a block placed into the original Daytona lower mold. Look at the size and shape of those steps! As well the strakes are what looks to be about double the width of the original 25 mold.

Was told it eats the big water amazing but the glass does what it does with most all cats yet alone the true tunnels.
Hope to see Jake and a few others like @Devious_Chris chime in and give the real technical data of the boat out.

I saw that yesterday on Instagram and was surprised I had missed it. I was very curious how it handled

Looks more like a true catamaran hull than a tunnel design, but I am no hull designer.

For those of us less well informed on the handling traits of a cat type hull, why is this better than the center pod design this hull had originally?

I really like the look of the new OB bottom Eliminator did for the 25 last year, from what I’ve heard it runs well.

Curious how this runs.

Center pod is usually for small boats, Tunnel. Helps lift the boat with less air packing due to less length in the boat. Also helps with the weight of a smaller boat .
I think they used to have two different bottoms on the 21 Daytona, with pod and a true cat, The way i remember the pod was a faster bottom !

21’ with center pod is completely different than the 25’s on up. The 21’ center pod sat deeper in the water than the sponsons, thus when hauling ass the sponsons where more like out riggers. 25’-26’-27’ ect, the center pod is shallow, and as you haul ass you ride on the outer sponsons, the center pod is out of the water. This is why you can have a 21’ Daytona jet, so it can suck water from the center pod that stays in the water. Back in the day, Bob told me the center pod on his bigger Daytonas helped them get on plane and allow you to run at slower speeds and it acts more like a V bottom, then when you want to haul ass it gets up and rides on the sponsons and packs air. I “think” technology has come up with a way to run true tunnels, and they get up on plane much easier now.

Luv it
Curious how it'd run with a big single. Got lots of time in a single 24 Skater with single 300xs

I heard $270K from someone that ordered 1 with 300s and that was last year. Heard it went up since.
That sounds bout right, their dealer in Texas was selling a twin 300 open bow for 250k.

I really enjoy seeing where Jake has taken eliminator the past years. The entire team there is knocking it out of the park. I know you have some videos of that thing in chop. Let’s see them.

I do, but they aren’t any good. As a driver it’s a bit hard to record and it’s also hard taking cell phone vids in the rough.
Wednesday afternoon of Desert Storm when it was windy and choppy out there we were out driving this boat.

As mentioned in post #1. We are still working on setup in the mid range but overall, it’s a great package!

They built one with a 400, it ran into the 90s.
Thanks
I remember seeing that but thought it had a pod??

Correct, Eliminator actually built 2 single outboard 25 Speedsters but those were both the older bottom. Both standard builds equipped with not much added equipment/options; Single Verado 400R was low 90mph, single 450R was 98mph with a box stock out of the box basic Rev4 XP prop and cleaver was around 102mph both boats with about 50 gallons of gas.
Both boats had a center pod. With a single you do need some sort of pod to deflect the water from trying to destroy the OB midsection/lower.

We have a couple new 255’s with a single 500R in the que that we will report about once they’re tested and finished.

I haven’t seen the single 450 25 but 102 is impressive for only 450hp!

We talked about it a bit on the shop tour video I put out a few months back.

What does this 255 weigh? Looks great
This twin 300 boat was 4,500lbs dry loading on to the trailer.

Yes.
27 Speedster, Mid cabin, normal optioned boat, single 450r, Rev4 XP prop, 96mph. Probably would have run 100 on a cold day and the right cleaver, we didn’t have the proper cleaver to run and the customers objective was 75mph so we called it a day.

This is a small and light weight boat...2 axles is plenty... for looks yeah maybe a triple but utility wise... 2 is just fine.
Well yeah, it's light, I'm making reference to V-Drive Schiada's and 3-Axle trailers, it's a Schiada thing. :D

That’s impressive! What jack plate and how was the time to plane?

OBWT(deck boat style walk-off maybe) with a single 450 or 500 is appealing, still keeping the billet swim steps in the rear to make it more family friendly. Twins ruin that rear hang out area for me.

Port-a Products jackplate. I didn’t time it but it’s actually noticeably quicker to plane as the twin comparison.

Yes that is correct.

Do you think that might change if you used a traditional style jack plate that put the motors closer to the transom? The porta products change setback (by a pretty large margin) as they raise and lower.

Although I could see the argument for more setback and lower x helping to push the bow over?

It’s possible, but.
I can compare a 27 Speedster twin 450R on Porta vs 27 Speedster single 450R on the same size and model Porta. Both boats same X dimension. The single planes faster.

But those Porta’s hang that weight waaayyy out there. I’d be curious to see the performance differences of just switching to like the 4.5 inch sea star jack plates.. and how it affects it putting the motors closer to the transom. Cool thing about the sea star is you can get different plates to vary the setback.. on top of programmable heights etc. (Cruising / top speed etc)
