The video link will be online as soon as I get it edited. As far as "How much as shown" it's kinda weird.. With the small boats a mfg will say "62K out the door etc.." It seems with the more pricey boats (once you cross the 130'ishK mark) it's kind of "taboo" to even ask.. LOL I think it's one of those if you have to ask you can't... etc..

I'm guessing 250 - 300? I can call and find out if ya really want to know, but I didn't want to ask, because my measly check book would have a coronary just looking at the props. :D

Maybe someone (Jake?) from Eliminator will Chime in with an approximate list of options and "ish" style pricing on this boat. Or if your interested just give them a call.

I know Elim's dealing on some boats right now. Point in fact I think the one in the photo's might actually be sold already. There's a couple guys that were pretty heavily interested in it just this weekend alone.

As we all approach the winter season... Eliminator is making some great winter offers! We're working on a deal right now for a 28 Speedster 1200 Teague and Number Six Drives :D

That's going to be insane.. With that much weight hanging off the transom, I'd be inclined to run a large balast tank up front... (Just wondering about the CG? Has Tony made any predictions on Speeds? It's going to be ridiculousl fast / quick with those pkg's.

Tony and I predict!!!
0.00094697 X 40 pitch X 0.81 (1.24 gear) X 6400 rpm X (0.92) 8% slip = 180.65 mph!

Good write up Dave....what I like better is the competitive pricing right here on the boards by Eliminator...I think all manufactures will need to be competitive online and in public to get those sales...

BTW...I followed that boat through Parker on Thursday night....very nice boat...even the wife thought it looked amazing at it pulled off at river island market...

Kinda funny looking to see those big ass small hub props on a big hub nxt lower, i'd be willing to bet there are quite a few mph to pick up by going to a #6 style lower. I remember hearing some numbers from a guy that switched from #5's to IMCO drives and lost 14mph from all the drag.

Still way impressive numbers, they are fast boats for sure.

I dunno what the hell that was.. They were on the prop and you can see them at certain angles

RD
If they are CNC props Possibly artifacts from the machining process.

I dunno.. They were polished, it was just a weird little finish on the props. Not straight like machined, but they did have a kind of pattern to them like ont he props.. Either way it doesn't matter, boat was bad ass, ran bitchen. :D

I'll get the video up early next week sometime.

The swirl marks you see on the blades are the finished polished and machine marks from Herring - after they come out of the casting. ALL HERRINGS ARE LIKE THIS!!!! :thumbsup

Finally got to see the one with the music added, definately makes it a better video. :D

Are the editing sequences the same between the two?

RD

No the one with music, the backend is edited to the music and the one without music would look weird with all the black sections in it, so just reworked the video.

Nice video, and I really like that boat. It seems like the perfect combo for Havasu/Parker

Little fast for Parker in the 150's.. I suppose you could gear it / prop it short and make it accelerate hard into the 120's..

Bad ass boat though, I was really taken back with how well it performed for a 28' boat.

I got an opportunity to go for a ride in the 28 Speedster last weekend and all I can say is WOW.. Usually those big cats are just moving sofas that really aren't that exciting to ride in compared to some of the smaller faster stuff. That is not the case, the 28 Speedster is an actual 28, and to say this thing shits and gets is the understatement of the year. The boat had Merc 700's / NXT Drives spining 40 inch Cleavers.. With that little HP, you would think mid 130's and it'd take forever and a day on relatively smooth water to ever run it that hard. This was not the case at all! I was blown away how hard that boat pulled on the big end..

We left the islander and were literally (what seemed like) idling along between 80 - 100 mph.. It runs 100+ at 3900 RPM's (no kidding), and runs 110+ at 4100 RPM.. As I mentioned above this boat is an Absolute kick in the ass to ride in!! Tony was giving it a little "goose" off the tops of rollers and it'd gently land a second or two later.. Really gave you that small boat "sports car" type feel that so many big cats juts lack IMO. We cruised south bound to just past the pump station, made a u-turn and were heading back when I saw WACAT in his F-32 DCB heading southbound. I hit up Tony and said "Go run that guy down so we can say hello" With that another u-turn at about 80 (did I mention it turns well? :D) And he buzzed it up to 100, 110, 120, 130'ish. I was thinking no shit, this thing runs pretty good?

We floated with them for a minute, and Tony took Andy01 for a quick spin in the boat. After that Tony and I were cruising back to the Islander and noticed another F32 running up behind us.. Tony let him run up on us and started rolling into it, the DCB was in it as well and off we go.. I was filming the DCB as w were running, and when I finally looked back forward the Speedo was reading 135..... 140..... 145...... About as fast as you read that.. :D I was thinking Jumpin Jesus this thing is not only fast, but it's quick!!

The boat runs 153, and Tony coulda got it there, but the water was getting pretty nasty so we maintained and backed off a little bit. That DCB was side by side with us for quite awhile, he "squeaked" by us a bit as he had the inside line on a corner (hard to believe I'm referring to anything on Lake havasu as a "corner" but when your running that fast they actually are.. LOL) and he let off.

It should be said, the F32 was running 1200's and #6's!! Against 700's, and he wasn't going anywhere fast.. That's not to take anything away from DCB, it is a much bigger / heavier boat that rides more like a Caddy, and I've been told that the boat that was along side us actually runs north of 160.. (Not sure if that's true or not, just what some guys in Havasu said). I was just blown away at how Quick / Fast this little Speedster is with a relatively "tame" motor package. 160 or not that 32 wasn't going anywhere on the Elim last weekend, and it was a hell of an experience getting two see 2 pieces of hardware of that caliber square off if only for a minute or two.

The 28 is a true "Hot Rod" (Or Hotboat) in every sense of the word, and the name "Speedster" definately fits the bill.

Here's a couple pics from the day. I will have the video up of the ride ASAP.. I have to edit it together in th next couple days before I head back to the river. :)

Revisiting this thread Dave.... I am currently trying to sell my 28 Daytona LP. Want to do my first new build with Eliminator. I am set on the twin Merc 700/6 drive package. I originally was only thinking about a 33X Speedster, until I saw the green and orange 28 Speedster they built last year that had 700's and 6 drives. It was the first time I had seen 6 drives on a 28 Speedster and they said the boat was scary fast. I don't have a large family or kids and I don't really go to lake with friends or anything so not super concerned about the difference in cabin size between the 28 and 33X. I have old 28 Speedster quotes don't want to hit up Mark and the guys at Eliminator until I am ready to pull the trigger, I am sure they're busy. If the price gap isn't astronomical I will probably get a 33X but if we are talking 100K+ difference I think I would "settle" for a 28 Speedster. The technology and lay ups and finish of these boats now in 2024 is so much better from since 2009 that I imagine the speeds and performance of the boat are even better.
