Please delete this thread. Mohave is a secret. Back to Havasu!
This x 1,000,000.

Wondered if there was anybody from here out there today. Saw a few heading back around Owl Point. Caught up with them and ran with them for a bit before peeling off to our regular beach.

I was wondering why i was seeing the speedsters headed this way on the 40. I love those boats.
I’d imagine running Mohave would be 100x better than Havasu in that boat.
Havasu was great until all the No wake zones.

See restrictions on motorized craft.
Sunday, Monday,, I believe..
While anyone can run to the dam on select days/times, LEO’s are starting to question ‘organized’ unorganized events. IMO, these types of events will cause issues for a group of boating friends that want to run to the dam on a select weekend.

What permits are needed to do a run like this?

The event itself was at the casino. The run to the dam was go if ya want to go..

To do an organized run to the dam you’d have to pull permits / insurance and work with the national park service etc. Not impossible but it would be difficult..

And yes every year when the official / unofficial dam run happens my phone blows up from officials saying I can’t do that.. every year I explain it
1. Isn’t an official event and zec com deal is a joke.
2. I don’t put it on and have only been three or four times..

Imagine thinking you need the damn government’s permission to go boating with some friends.
I have been on the receiving end of boating with friends (group of 6 boats) and got stopped for organizing an un permitted event in WI. Took over an hour for the game warden to finally let us go and figure out we were not an organized event, but 6 buddies boating through a chain of lakes in northern WI. I also had the game warden show up at my family’s cabin in WI via boat, when I had 10+ boats on the dock for my grandmothers birthday. Once again, they tired to write me a ticket for un-permitted boating event.

Total PIA. After those 2 incidents all gatherings were via text and no longer posted on SM sites (before or after).

Miss that cabin so much! My great grandfather built it in 1913, but living in CA, keeping a summer home in WI was too much. Ended-up selling my share to my cousin who spent almost as much time I did at the cabin when we were growing up.

A few got gas at willow and the fundeck with Teague 1050 stopped at cottonwood.
Wow, was it hauling ass up the lake? Our 30 Eagle with a Teague 1200 made it from Katherine’s to willow. Fueled at willow, went up to the dam and made it back down to Katherine’s. But I wasn’t hauling ass (maybe 40-45 right at the sweet spot of cruising on this setup).

Turns out Katherine’s to the dam is about the equivalent of Long Beach to Catalina and back, and I knew ours could do that run so getting gas at willow was doable. But overall the dam run was like $400 in gas all told (like two trips to Catalina from Long Beach and back).
