With all the electricians on here figured I would ask.

I tried Walter's electric and they said they could order it but 6-7 month lead time.

I have a job that will be getting solar. What I need is a main panel with meter socket. 200 amp. Flush mount. Overhead feed. With a 200 amp breaker. No other breaker spaces. And small as possible. The load centers will be located elsewhere by the batteries. This goes on front corner of the house.

Seems like this would be commonly used with all the new builds getting solar. They have surface mount in stock for $1730. Which seems crazy high.

I could also use 2. 100 amp exterior flush mount load centers with bottom feed. These they could not get. And the last one I had to use a interior load center with a shanty.

With all the ADUs these would be a in demand product as I need 3 this year alone.

Any leads on where to buy would be appreciated.

You can use the surface mount with a flush mount kit. Factory or DIY.
Agreed, that's crazy $$.

Is there enough real estate for a separate meter socket and 200 amp MCB?

Have you tried Ebay? We ran into a similar issue last year and redesigned based on available equipment. I believe we needed a dual 200amp panel, 1 was just a meter socket for the front house and the other was a 200amp for the ADU. Edision said we arent giving you 400amps anyway so we redesigned.

What is there is exactly what I need in 200amp it's only 100 amp. The load center below gets eliminated and a new one goes closer to the solar equipment out of sight.

Maybe I’m overthinking it?

Any semi flush mount 200amp main should work?

Siemens are usually in stock. 14” stud bay opening and you need 40ish inches of vertical space.

You need to use a panel that does not have a split buss as you can only get 100 amps out of the top buss or the bottom buss the only one I know of is over head only panel 👍👍👍👍 good to have you back 👍😀

I saw those last night. Surface mount with no flush mount kit available.

The homeowner has a friend that used to do solar saying his Walter's sales rep has what we need. Waiting to see. My Walter guy has been there 20 years and knows his shit.

Shit it's 801. Got home at 11pm. Working late everyday still. Wyrd posted what we need. Main electrical panel with meter head thar only has room for 1 200 amp breaker. Must be flush mount.

No. Was at that job last night and he called his electrician buddy. He referenced several that have load centers connected. He couldn't grasp the fact we just wanted a meter head and 1 breaker for size and looks. Then he claimed my Walter's guy is clueless. Which I replied then find me the panel.

I referenced the Mbb200btf. And had to look back at the box you posted. He pulled up the mbeb200btf and showed the picture. It has a load center connected I should of zoomed in.

What we want would be the mbb200bts in a btf so it's flush mount or semi flush. He is calling his contacts at main electrical and Walter's today.

I can't believe it's not a common panel with solar required on all new builds. Just like they don't make a exterior load center that would be common on the thousands of ADUs being built. These panel manufacturers are missing a huge market and making it difficult.

I am going to that job again today. Was trying to get everything installed for inspection so I can wrap the exterior. Got the solar array figured out on the roof and ready to order shingles today. Got a change on the bathroom faucets to wall mount and a few other changes to keep us busy for today. Hopefully they can source the correct panel.

Still have mine available if you need it. It's here and I think it's exactly what you need. I'm located in San Bernardino.

The BEB has load center attached to it.

Is the customer that picky about the main panel being small?

What were working with is Edison spotted the meter head and riser on front of the house. House gets solar.

The solar has a controller, big j box and critical load center. The other load center they want in the garage not far from the solar equipment and the batteries are on backside of garage close to controller and critical load center.

There will be only one 200 amp main breaker at meter location. And 1 Solar disconnect below it. The solar disconnect has its own box.

They have solar on the back house and it is unsightly to look at but out of sight. So trying to match the back house. My first time setting it all up. It's way easier than I thought. Except getting the panels that will make it look the way I want it.

I appreciate all the help.

I am. My name is going on it.

But yes he is also. He worked with me for a few years. Now does low voltage design and computer stuff.

It's the first thing you see when you pull in the driveway.

It's crazy to me they don't make it. With solar being a requirement on new construction. I would think it would be the most commonly used panel. Crazy how bulky and ugly the solar stuff is. Would never want it in view.

Okay so here is the scoop. The mbb is only available in a surface mount option 14 in wide 25 in high. The beb is a meter with a 200 amp breaker no distribution. Overall dimensions on that as a semi flush is 14 in wide 28 in tall.
