I thought a new thread was in order for things going forward since the other "political" threads in the Lounge are somewhat focused on certain events. Dave tends to give a little leeway with these threads close to elections being in the Lounge as long as we don't make asses of ourselves. So, It is my sincere hope we can do that with humour, considerate'ish thought, and pure WTF!

Here's my .02 cents...

I never thought Biden was going to make the convention. I knew that if he was above ground it was going to be extremely difficult to replace him ballot wise on certain State's ballots with him alive. It appears we are in the midst of him being taken out "dirt nap" permanently. Kamala will be sworn in as the first woman President that just happens to be almost black. The Left has given up on this cycle and will be happy to install Kamala to all the fanfare, but will bury A LOT of baggage with Biden and Kamala gone all while protecting who has actually been behind the curtain the last 3.5 years and will do anything to thwart Trump's term after election as President.

If the Trump assasination attempt was actually successful, who thinks today would be happening? They took their shot, failed, and had to enact Plan B....which happens to be aborting the current administration. They were hoping to eliminate Trump, limp Biden over the finish line, install Kamala as the puppet. Great Plan! They had to sow" a little doubt first and that was what the first debate was all about in case the plan failed. It was a test run to see what had legs.

We are living in some really scary times at the moment and I feel this is just the beginning.😞 My sincere hope is that even 25% of the super corrupt bullshit comes to light during Trump's term...a man can hope!

Dave, I sincerely apologize if I have made an ass of myself. 😳

It’s going to be amazing to watch what rules get set aside to make this Happen !

This is also going to re invent the primary process…. Why have a primary …. If you can just get someone else!

There is a battle going on that defies comprehension.
No “normal” person would ever believe it…but it’s real and true.
Trump has known this all along. He survived that attempt, but the war has escalated and they are reassembling their strategy and tactics. Biden is gone, the next few weeks are going to test everything we think we know.
Those who consider everything outside the box as a “conspiracy” are in for a stressful time.

My two cents, it’s just politics for Christs sakes. Why all the hyperbole? Life just isn’t that much different now than it was during the last admin, at least in my little world of family and friends.

All this grandiose talk about doom and gloom and nobody mentions our spiraling national debt, for which both parties are to blame? Both sides kicking the can down the road. It’s pathetic.

Aside from the cost of everything going throught the roof...we all have less money because of the policys of Biden/Harris. While many folks are still doing well, think how much better off you would be if food wasnt up %50+-, cost of fuel up, look what a new car, boat costs, etc. That represents savings and investment that have shrunk, and or purchases that are not being made.

My retirement lost a significant amount in his first 2 years as president, my Wife handles that stuff and my comment to her was I didn't know I had that much to lose.
Some has come back but not where I was, its like someone borrowing a $100 and 2 years later giving back $50 and your happy with that, his supporters are that dense. ;)

I get that, but for people who own real estate and have investments, the counter is all time highs in real estate values and the stock market, 5%++ interest on savings and higher wages for those still working. Inflation is very personal and impacts people in different ways, some more so than others.

Now elections have consequences.

Trump in office gasoline/diesel prices will will drop significantly.
That will slow inflation faster than anything.

Will never happen with Democrats. It'll all get worse with their crisis policies

Your endless gleeful links to videos of Russians being killed. You don’t do it anymore, but for a while there it was everyday all day. The more bodies the better it seemed.
It seemed pretty obvious that it isn’t the Ukrainians you care so much about, it’s dead Russians no matter who is killing them.
Not once have you missed an opportunity to call Putin “Vlad the Putnik” in the last 2 years.
