I live down here in the south and have always wondered why people would want to run shit thats highly corrosive? Alcohol is the same and I went through a stage with it but our high humidity dictates "use it or lose it".

Because it is $ 2.25 verses 10 bucks a gallon for 110 octane and it makes big HP:thumbup:

But your losing in volume usage, grant it, not double but the corrosive factor I`d be concerned with. We can`t get it down here so I have no experience with it at all.

Terribles has it.

Some years ago, when they first started selling the stuff, both of the Terribles had signs up, but I think they jumped the gun and probably didn't sell much, so the signs came down. I didn't realize they had put it back in, good to know since some of the race boats run the stuff. We had run the stuff in one of my dirt modified engines, but the new one I am working on finishing up this week was going to need a larger carb, so all of a sudden it's going to be on methanol.

Must of just started selling it. They didn't have it last summer. I run it but I have to bring it out.
Btw, I haven't had any "corrosion" issues or "black goop".

I'm gonna say there is none in Parker or Havasu unless someone just started carrying it again . If anyone can verify different please let me know .

My car is flex fuel and only time I'll use it is on highway trips. And only if its at least .40c cheaper

Maybe they don't have it anymore, I have ran a few tests with e-85 and it works out to be the same MPG wise with the added mileage loss with the extra ethanol versus regular, although currently we are blending gas and 10-11% ethanol on regular gas so its getting pretty close. At 2.04 for regular and 46 bucks to fill up truck kinda stopped trying to save a few bucks, when its 106 bucks a tank different story.

its no where near as corrosive as methanol.

some good things about e85, is can run higher compression and or boost, more power, can run more timing, lower temps, lower cost over race gas. i run it in my sandrail and the fuel has performed flawlessly. only drawback is you do use more of it, but at a 1/3rd or the cost of race gas im fine with that.

the other drawback is no place close to havasu carries it at the pump. yuma is the closest i think.

Wheeler thanks for conformation looks like $ 400-500.00 at Parker Oil for 4-6 hours of fun and that's with a lot of floating. :grumble:

No wonder all the Schiada owners also have and outboard.. I still don't get the whole 10-12 foot deal though?
