@TPC mentioned this place the other day. I've driven through it a few times, but I've never planned a (summer) trip their, yet.

Looked Beautiful passing through!

Who's been there?

What do you know about this place?

It's on my bucket list for sure.

Thanks!

It has excellent trail destinations.
Every day is a new adventure, head to someplace interesting.
RV park or good sized boon docking.
Cool in the summer, usually.
Not too far off the I15.

I know nothing and have never been, but I do have a friend that is building a little place up there right now. Looks like a nice place to visit.

How many times have you been so far?
Twice.
Panguich and Marysvale, have better maintained trails just about passable in any weather but we like Duck Creek better.
One Duck Creek drawback is the trails can be very muddy plus the trails that run along sheer cliffs can be icy - slippery and this is subject to happen on any day of the year.

The riding is awesome up there. Markagunt trail system is killer.

However it's turned into CA / Little Mexico in the last few years... It used to be quiet and peaceful. Now it's Mexican flags blasting mariachi music out of their Can-Ams 🤣

If you can, go middle of the week. Weekends and holidays are ridiculous now.

2 of my closest friends have places in Strawberry Valley. I mooch off them every chance i get 😂

I love going up there when the water is flowing, drinking beers and building beaver dams in the little creeks

Duck Creek is amazing, we rode some trails and ended up in Hatch, probably some of the best country I've ever laid eyes on. Californians come to Vegas for their weekend, and Vegas people head to southern Utah for their weekend.

The little BBQ joint at the bottom of the hill is a great stop for some road snacks on the way home. It's a beautiful place to visit for sure. I work with a ton of people that commute daily from St. George, mesquite, and Logandale, everyday. They politely ask that the 65mph left lane California plates to get the fuck out of their way.

Love DC...its the equivalent of what arrowhead/big bear is to Californians for folks from Nevada.

I was in the area about 10 days ago. We did not camp there as we were at Bryce. We talked that we need to go back and spend a few days specifically in the Duck Creek area with and check out the trails.

Kind of funny to see this thread pop up.

So stick to the main roads or I may hear banjo's playing.

Noted. 😁
We pull into Uinta Dispersed Campground.

Even though we're street legal Leos have stopped us and asked we use the trails when possible for safety.
Leos always cool.
We like the food and Sangria and appreciative service at Hot Mamas. Call if you need reservations.

Diesel is dispensed from a 100 gallon gravity tank and in limited supply and availability unless that's changed.
Fuel up before heading in from the I 15.

Southern Utah turns into Nevada’s playground in the summer. I lived in Cedar City for 4 years wile in college. There’s quite a bit of riding around duck creek (mostly sxs stuff) and in cedar city as well. Utah is one of those states you can pretty much drive in any direction and find a decent trail system. A few hours past Duck Creek is Escalante which has a 120 mile round trip or so ride to hole in the rock over looking Powell which is awesome. Kanab has quite a bit of stuff too.

This is my close friend Ryan’s place lol I’ve had a place up in duck creek since 1991. Absolutely love it up there but since Covid it has turned crazy busy. There’s plenty of camping right off strawberry / unita flat road. Trails go for miles and miles.

Everyone vanishes on Sunday, they head home to church.

Authorities did say to us no trails gates should be locked, none, and to notify them if any are. That was a red flag.

Farmer Pelican had just bought property with public trail easements NE of Unita but was locking Forestry gates and chasing off visitor anyway. We ripped one lock off and went toe to toe with him and notified the rangers. We proceeded.

He drives a worn out John Deer Gator.

The LEOS had words with him we learned and later we passed through and passed him with no drama.
