The more I thought about it, yes it was not as bright as I thought it would be, but I think that is more about my setup, the outdrive extends out about 6" further out than the normal out drive. This product is great, work as advertize, and was easy to install.

I would do it again.

Has anybody put one of these lights in a nautique boat. I got mine the other day and it looks too big for my drain plug hole.My boat is 4 hours away to check it.

Just got Mine in the Mail. I'm looking for A better way to disconnect the Plug (light) every time the Boat is out of the Water. Something GOOD,FAST AND EASY. THAT WILL LAST. I always unplug my boat.

Because of the minimal draw, Im thinking about mounting a plug-in that is used on the back of a speaker box high in the bilge after the switch. Then I was going to solder the ends of the wires so that they stay together. A few properly placed padded clamps to run the wires through to get them up out of the way, and then just plug the wires in.

I got a white one and a red one, so I need to be able to switch them out easily, and I also need to pull them out when it is on the trailer.

This is just theory at this point. I have not installed them yet, but this is what I am going to try for mine.

Bob tells me they are using these at the shop for quick disconect and a few boats they have done this way as the boat owners bought all 4 color LEDS so they switch em up week to week . p.m. your adress and Bob says he'll throw a dozen in an envelope and shoot em out to ya ;)

I'm thinking something when i pull. the Light out (plug) some kind of connector that is easy and will not need to be replaced often.

This sounds like a really cool idea and will probably end up buying one.

What I don't get it is why everyone is so worried about finding a way to disconnect it. A lot of people are saying that they pull their plugs everytime they go out....why??? Is your boat leaking? Why pull it if the bilge is dry, it's one more thing to forget when launching? I've never once had to pull the plug on the Shockwave because I've never seen as much as a drop of water in the bilge.

I have to pull mine if im in AZ and head home with the boat. There is an inspection station across the state line that wants to see your anchor and checks everything for that pesky muscle. I had one lady tell me that I needed to clean the grass off my trailer before I came through. There was one 6" piece that stuck itself between the boat and the bunk. :thumbsdown

Don't sweat it blt4spd they have'nt had a 1 that has'nt fit as of yet and Bob is shipping 200 + of these LED plugs a week .. Bob just called the local Ski boat dealership and they are all 1/2" NPT ... don't stress worse scenario measure your old plug next time your at the boat and they'll machine /custom make ya one ;)

What about adding more drain plug adapters so these never have to be removed?

I already Have three,That's not an option Due to the drain angle. Just a Quality Disconnect about Six inches up the wire would work great. And yes my drains have been checked. Not only at local lakes but at the ag check on the way back from the river. Having the drains pulled already makes it a quick pass thru. And yes my center bilge does have some water on a regular basis ( low Profile Boat )

I got into by boat for a few minutes today to look at wiring the leads to the switch on my dash and got to thinking...

Did anyone get a chance to try their light this weekend?? How did it work out for you??

Im hoping to be able to wire mine in before Desert Storm, but if I run out of time, I might just use the clips that they sent for that weekend.
