Kinda shocked. Took the kids to the pumpkin patch. Live Oak in Yucaipa actually. Place last year was wall to wall people. This year it’s a ghost town. Sign of the times I guess. Has me a little nervous to be honest. I think it’s time to at least put 1 finger on my hat.

Maybe just not spending $$ on overpriced pumpkins and games. Idk.

Was at Flemings last night and it was full.

I took my son there a few years ago and it was a shit show.

This year I’m going up Prescott Valley to a similar pumpkin patch and meeting my Grandpa. $25 a ticket and pumpkins are extra, I figure $200 for the trip…

I said fuck that but my mom and step dad gave the kids $200 and said go have fun with Great Grandpa.

At $150-$200 a family I could see why people are choosing not to go.

Trust me, I moved here in '06.
It will be a sh$t show from this weekend on out.
The city put in new lanes and signals this year, It won't help much. Too many people.
My advice is exit at Yucaipa Blvd.

We just left only the parking lot at live oak was being used. Not all the way up the street like usual. Really weird. It did seem more crowded as we left but not like previous years. Hope it’s just an off night.

Do your research, not all patches are the same. Read the reviews.
Then post your experience here, so the rest of us get your reviews.

Other than Alice Coopers Haunted House, I get a strange feeling most of the monsters are grouping my the girls I’m with😉🍻

It's showing it's ugly face slowly but surely all over the country, took much longer than expected, sad to see but it is happening.

I hope for everyone whatever is coming whether it’s soon or 1 year from now is prepared and has some sort of savings to get them by. I hate to see people struggle but I know that’s reality.

Wife and I took the boys up to oak glen to go apple picking. We hit the Live Oak deal as well. Never been. Always see it passing through to head to Parker. It was packed. Kids loved it. I thought it was really neat until we ate….. $18 corn dog and a $16 beer. Ha! Disneyland is cheaper than that place. I was blown away.

Just a heads up but what made this place cool back it the day is it was family owned and a Christmas tree farm. Then they started doing pumpkin patch and slowly adding things. Then it was sold to a group out of Orange County and the prices went through the roof! Hate on the 909 all you want it’s the slow move of people from the OC and there need for all thing trendy and chain store related that’s killing the small town feel that a lot of us that grew up in the 909 love. Lived in San Diego, and the OC for most of my adult life but the closet I got to the hometown feel I get in Yucaipa was living in HB but even HB got swallowed up by the new OC!

Yup they are coming to Norco and destroying everything we love about it. I’m not complaining but I see it

So we're judging the success or failure of the country based on Pumpkin Patch attendance?🤣😅
100% man. You know how it is. If people aren’t spending money on pumpkins economy is in the shitter.

Nope 32oz sadly only size they offer. 22$ no bullshit. Between my wife daughter and mother in law was 3 cones and the float it was almost 50$
I love the fact that my wife‘s go to is Thrifty’s. 👍 Our son has my tastes for BR31F. Good thing is that he will buy when we go there. But that is after we shell out for a good meal. 😁

I’m a BR fan myself, that was the go to with my grandparents, until I figured out I was lactose intolerant lol.

Now I can’t beat the Handles 4 scoop sampler for $7. Everyone in the family gets ice cream for under $10 in 2024…

Go be poor somewhere else. I don’t need that vibe 😂😂😂. I wish I could just hit Sam’s. My wife has to find the most expensive difficult shit. I swear she could make Helen Keller want to rip her hair out. I think she takes pride in it to be honest. 😂😂

Well when the original owner passed away years ago. He was such a nice and caring guy btw. His family happily cashed out to let someone else run it and the place lost its small town feel. Sad because when I grew up in Yucaipa this was a very cool spot.

I have not been there since about 2016.

Jans first job as a teen was BR. She still prefers their Pralines & Cream over any other.
Currently, she's been making her own icecream in some new hoidy-toidy, loud AF machine by Ninja.

Had a classmate in high school that was the manager. we’d have FREEBIES all the time. Then I also worked at Farrell’s and Mrs Field’s. I was all sugared out in my early 20s. 😁

So what you’re saying is next year we can send our wives and we can find a local bar and have the wives pick us up on the way home?

Ya man. My wife puts up with so much bs and hobbies that add up to stupid money yearly. So when she asks to do something like this it’s hard to say no.

I go by there every day, that property sold and they are going to build on it I think next year, They have already started behind Carl's Jr.
Until I retired over a year ago I drove by there every day to the office on Lambert / Idaho. The pumpkin patch and Xmas tree lot was always crowded.
