I have an Ultra 22 Stealth with a dominator pump with the 2 piece transom plate. I saw an old thread of a 2010 Stealth that Ultra built for a customer, where the transom adaptor the was fabricated at GS Marine and installed. The 2010 had the same dominator pump with the 2 piece transom plate. Can anybody tell me what the purpose of the transom adaptor is for? Im guessing its to provide additional stability/rigidity to the drive, since the 2 piece transom plate is bolted then silicone sealed. Any input would be appreciated.

the main function of the T/A is to seal the jet to the hull, the two piece fabricated plates are typically used in "set back" jets when the proximity of the bowl sealing area has been moved back to the point where a standard T/A is no longer effective Tom

OK. Although I have a different pump, my setup looks very similar to these, with the two piece exterior transom plates. So is there anything that mounts to the interior side of the transom around the pump?

I had a gnarly leak thru the top of my transom plate. I had to remove all the silicone around the 2 piece plate, around the pump, and removed the plates to scrape all the old crap off. Re-sealed it all, leak tested, and had a minor leak at the bottom of the pump and transom plate. Dried it, re-siliconed, and it looks managable.

Im also assuming there will be minor leakage due to the engineering design. I suppose I just have to make sure the bilge pump works!!!

Im new to jets, so this is all a learning process for me.
Thanks for all your input.

Best I can say is when Josh makes these plates he "templates them" to fit very close (while allowing space for sealant) we use 100% Silicone and have very seldom had leak issues , cleanliness , lack of scaling paint etc are critical, unless I misread you may need to completley remove them clean and descale and start over again Call if we can help ! Ya, I took the whole assembly off the hull, got everything all nice and clean prior to re-siliconing and installing. Im thinking its good to go now. I appreciate all the feedback, especially the photos!:thumbsup

I like the second picture, Tom... It looks so clean with no silicon goop showing at all. What is the cost of a plate like that for a Dominator setback pump? I wanna get rid of that ugly goop on the back of my boat...

Thanx in advance,

Mike...
