I know there are rules about politics in the lounge. But this USAID stuff should be important to every taxpaying citizen in the USA, regardless of your political leaning. This should be a sticky in the lounge so it can be updated.
Keeping ones head buried in the sand seems counter productive.

Functions of the Government for the past 45 years or so;
Find problems in the world to use as leverage to extract money from the citizens,
Develop ways to enriched themselves with that money,
Never solve the problems in order to continue to extract money from the citizens.
It’s that simple.
Just like doctors that only treat the symptoms and never cure the patient.

Local news this morning reporting that a federal judge has blocked DOGE from accessing Treasury Department records. Hopefully this can be quickly overcome. These corrupt judges are enemies of the people.

I agree with you that the Trump / Elon focus on dragging the swamp / political movements that are dead set on destroying the US to light and exposing it to it's core to the US citizens and tax payers is an anomaly .
I know my two sons, and a couple of ex wives are onboard with what is happening. right now My sons friends are as well (19 - 22) so I do not think this revolution is short lived. JD Vance and the younger crop of Republicans have built inroads with the younger generations that still understand hard work, dedication, sacrifice and require trust and results from politicians will pay off. They see the systematic destruction of what they believe in . I trust that the younger generation will carry this movement forward.

$2.6B to California High Speed Rail in 2024 alone!!! usaspending.gov is a bit of a rabbit hole but when you see the spending for so many BS causes go away during Trump and then turn right back on for Biden. The only payments to CA for the rail were made in November and December of 2024. Such BS!!!

Most people do not want to see politics, and complain about seeing it. Superbowl ads simply asking people if they want to pay $x million for specific programs is how you force them to see it, then talk about it on Monday at work..
