Does anybody have any experience with Dodge ram trucks and Dodge Durango SUV's. My buddy picked one up for a pretty good price and a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty but I'm sure there are conditions with that does anybody have any insight for me?

I have a grand Cherokee. Same platform as Durango. It has the hemi 5.7. Runs great and fairly good mileage out on the highway. The other half drives it daily and local mileage sucks. Gotta keep your foot out of it.

The small print on my b2b warranty back in 2008 said I had to do all the regular maintenance thru a dealer but I never did. Last year my local dealer did r&r on 2axle seals and the pinion seal for NO CHARGE. They told me because I had the tranny serviced at 90K for the second time, that fulfilled the "regular maint." deal sufficiently.
I am now at 120K on a Hemi Megacab and it has been 100% trouble free. Other than the steering wheel the interior shows zero wear and no squeeks or rattles at all. I'm sure it will be the 3rd Dodge in a row that I keep past 250K. My neighbor is always under the hood of his V10 Ford and GM burned me so badly I will never ever go back there. Toyotas are sooo fugly, so it was either Dodge or Titan for me back in 2007/8. I might seriosly consider an EcoBoost if the price was more reasonable at purchase time. I got 12K off sticker buying an unsold 2007 in April of 08.

Actually they are not the same platform! The Durango does not have a real frame. The jeep does

My wife's work car is a Durango
It has the Hemi and Citadel package
It's nice but only 18 mpg and has
That front wheel drive rumble.

My work truck is a 2005 ram 2500
Cummins -Auto. Just clicked 180K
Miles, 18+ mpg just regular maintenance other than #5 injector
Line. We change tranny filter and fluid
Every 50k, I regularly pull heavy trailers. And it's used in the oil field

I have a '12 ram express std cab shortbed. It's got the 395hp hemi and 3.92 gears, stock 13" rotors, lowered 4" running 305/45/22s. The truck is factory 4 linked and handles like a slot car. I've been a GM guy all my life and sold my Dmax for this truck. It has 30k and not one single issue. I love the truck and with a purchase price of 21k it can't be beat. The HEMIs are known for a lifter tick and since I've been running the 5-30 Amsoil in it the tick went away. Looks like I'll be waiving the MOPAR flag from now on.

... Or at least until GM can actually make a real enthusiasts sport truck
