That's what it looks like and that is what he should have done, stopped. Continues on screwing up other peoples property because he's a dumbass:thumbsdown

I don't understand why no one pulled the keys?

One guy jumps on, throws the bumpers, and jumps back off?

I was thinking he had a rudder that was stuck or steering to one rudder that was broken. I couldn't tell if one engine was down, didn't look like it to me. You can still maneuver a twin engine boat on one engine without much trouble.

I got an idea, kill the engine or engines, yell to peeps on neighboring dock/boats that you need help, throw a line and put bumpers out, tie off until help arrives or a more capable CPT. can put boat away.

Can't fix stupid especially if they are liquored up!!

i was amazed when my dad would dock his boat in cabrillo beach. 42 footer using only the sticks and would get within what seemed like inches of other boats and back it into the slip without touching the sides once.

Judging by the flags that were flying, he was also dealing with about a 10-15 knot wind. With a high profile boat, that adds another element to the puzzle.

I think I would have used the phone to call Harbor Patrol...

Yeah no shit. Had a buddy docked out of long beach in a little 30 ft.'r. On more than one occasion harbor patrol had to tie off to the courtesy dock in high winds and come back the next day.

His Port (Left) Engine &/or Transmission has gone out, not his Starboard. The Port Prop spins CCW, and pushes & pulls the boat to the right. The Starboard Prop spins CC and pushes & pulls the boat to the left. Boat keeps wanting to go left, as only the starboard engine is operational. All the prop wash is surfacing on the starboard side, if the port E&T were functioning there'd be prop wash surfacing on the that side. Furthermore if you look closely there is no exhaust exiting on the port side. All indications that only the starboard engine is opperating.

Now before I went and passed judgement I'd ask myself, "how would do, trying to dock a 33' pos Carver, on 1 engine, where I only had 45' at best from dock/transom to dock/transom?"

I passed judgement because the moron should have done what others suggested, kill the engine/engines and ask for help. If you look close enough he was all over the place and obviously either too proud or just plain stupid to ask for help or attempt to get out of the tight quarters.

Don't know if anybody else caught it but it looks like it was a kid behind the controls. Wish there was a follow up vid with Harbor Patrol/Coast Guard.

Not taking away anything from that captain's skill but bow thrusters help a ton when crabbing.

How the heck can you tell?

Judging by the fact no one threw the guy in the water I come down on the "something on the boat broke".

This is also a good illustration of "when you find yourself in a hole stop digging".

I was watching the vid on my PC and it looks like a "smallish" figure at the helm. When the other guy finally boards the boat toward the end of the video and takes over the controls at the helm you can see a physical size difference. I may be incorrect but it seems that may be it..
