Do you loosen your trailer tie downs when not using boat?

I always do. I feel it helps relieve the stress the fiberglass is under as well as the straps being under tension in the heat.

I always try to tighten my winch as tight as possible after tightening down the rear straps. I think it stretches the boat and if I can get a bigger boat by over tightening my winch, it will be a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Hopefully no one copies my idea .....

I would never tow the CP with the cover on. It's strong enough but rubs in all the wrong places. I rarely tow with the cover on the Baja and if I do I put a thick towel on the deck and windshield. I loosen all straps when in storage. Even the bow winch strap.

Nope, it’s always strapped down and ready for the launch ramp.

Just fits in the garage still hooked up to the truck. I do lower the drive.

Yep. It’s like the bote you claim to own yet I’ve never seen, so it does not exist.
Are you asking for a ride. ???

Like I said why use mine when yours is perfectly fine to ride in.
I don't have a hot wife for you to look at ......still want a ride

Is that based on the weight of the pontoon ( straps) and why lowering this merc and not the out drive ( cobra ) ...????

What has changed

I not even sure of my mindset but I never worried about the cobra sitting on the trailer while going back to the house. I did always drop the drive for storage.
I just don’t think I hav reached a comfort level yet with the toon. The toons make a creaking sound on trailer (flexing?) when not making contact correctly on the bunks. Maybe that’s normal, but I don’t want to have a hard lesson by not simply pulling the straps.

He had a double quote, he was referring to my last Cobra. New owner bought a house in town last year, also has other family or friends with Cobra

Sometimes if I think about I loosen the bow strap. The back is almost always tied down but never too tight. I don't get the trailer leveling, I raise it up until I can drive away and there it sits until I hook again. I do lower the drive.

Trailer has to be level or it looks unlevel. Lol. Thats unacceptable.

Sure. We can ride to the dock and settle this.

I leave my tie down attached even when I'm using the boat. I go from the strut to the trailer on both sides.

I have never put transom straps on any boat I have ever owned and loosening the bow strap that is just ludicrous, way over think things.

I loosen the bow straps enough so that it’s hard to forget to tighten them.

Neither the boat nor the trailer have hooks for transom straps.

I use an axle stand to set the boat nose high as I store it outside till I finish the garage project. Always strap the back when towing and loosen when sitting .

yes loosen them for sure ... why have all the stress on all the parts while it's sitting?
