Divorce sux. The name of the game is leverage. If you have little leverage you're screwed.

Update. Ex tried to get a restraining order against me, saying I threatened her for her life and said if "I can't have you no one can"
Well the judge did not grant it. She did this because she would not give me my stuff. The judge said it's his just give it to him. Well yesterday I went and picked up half of it.... the rest is gone. All the best stuff was taken.
The next question I have could I turn this in to the home owners Insurance to at least get some money back???

You're probably going to need a police report to file a claim.
I'd say why the hell not try and see what happens.

Turn the tables;
Put an add in the paper saying you'll pay $1000 to anyone who can get ex to go on a date with them.

Show this to the judge :)

Did I read u were married 6 years and in CA? If so alimony either way will only be for 3 years, after the 10 year mark it's until the other party remarries or dies.

Seems to me u r stepping over dimes to pick-up nickles BUT if you feel wronged and the amount you feel ur getting fucked out of is more then an attorney will cost u then by all means go for it.

Good luck

BUT he has a ACE in the hole. HE IS disabled and that by itself is going to put the courts in his favor.

Not so much, a friend went through a divorce of which he became disabled during their marriage, she got more than half of their assets, a 1.5mil house that was paid for and 4mil in other assets. So I don't think being disabled will make any difference.
Like 100% of what the others have mentioned, forget about all the material items and get someone younger, hotter and be sure and tell all her friends (if any are speaking to you) how much happier you are and how she did you a huge favor. :D

I am trying to get my stuff from my ex. Guns paperwork (pink slip) and enclosed trailer. She will not give me my stuff. The trailer is in my name. She says it's "community property". I did not contest the marriage and on the divorce paperwork she left out a 1949 ford and a jet boat.
Can I call the police and go pick up the trailer or not? I'm in cali

Having been through a couple of divorces I can provide any who are going through it 2 pieces of advice, 1. If you are moving out make sure you take anything that has any value to you, if not you will never see it again, 2. Don't be nice, it gets you absolutely no where, women are meaner and they don't care how nice you are. So if you can get alimony file for it, and never give up any custody rights to the kids, ever

When you are working on a settlement with her, have your attorney put the missing things in as your property. She will either agree and it will "magically appear" when it comes time to settle, or she will claim it's gone. If it's gone, it's gone. File a police report that it was stolen and turn it into insurance. Make sure only your name is on the insurance check. Otherwise chalk it up as gone. Attorneys gonna charge you to find out through the settlement though. So, how much is it worth to you?

I hate reading stories like this, but if its any condolence, its threads like this that make me 100% sure that I will never marry or have kids. I see no benefit to it at this point in my life. I feel for you guys that are going thru this torture and hope you get your items back when its all said and done!

I finished up a divorce about 6 months ago. He's right, don't be nice. She won't reciprocate, neither will her attorney. If you still have access to the house, go get whatever community property you want or that has value (especially to her). If it's community, you have every right to it. Once it's in your possession and secure, she will have to ask for it in the settlement.

Dad always told me to get a Jewish woman for a lawyer, she's the only one who can stand up point at your soon to be ex and tell her "LISTEN C--T" and get away with it.

While I don't know squat about divorce some of advice given here sounds like that people know what they are talking about. So based upon this I have one observation.

So in regards to the missing property it would seem you want to list all those assets when you file your declaration and they will be accounted for in the final split. Since she will owe you 50% of those missing items maybe they will re-appear Because otherwise she would have to compensate you for the 50% of the value of the missing items with something else.

Worth a try.

My ex did also. Took me 10 years to get back on my feet good.

Mine actually won her restraining order... said I sexually assulted her. 6 months after we had any contact let alone sex... only I was in a hospital bed, 500 miles away from where it happened in a different state. She lied her ass off, so much so that different judge granted me a life time restaining order against her. Ofc no police report were ever filed. The judge even brought the da in to prosecute her, but they said no money... long story short ni recorse.

Well the tro is up this month. Been a fucking disaster. As a man you get fucked by the aust if the women crys.... 45 mins straight, never looked at any of the 1000+ pages I brought in.

The best part was when she said we never had sex and I was just a friend... playing the tecording I had of us having sex in court was awesome. Funny how different judge that actually listens too your side changes things. Damn shame too, because I was ready too ask her too marry me, than an old friend moved back too town, with in 2 weeks she was getting high.

Meth fucks people up.

It was the spark that finally got me too move from ca. I don't miss her one bit, but I do mis my friends in the judo community... for which she was an oylmpic athlete... which is what started this, her coaches adked me what happened. I told them, she started hangung with a guy and taking drugs.... funny how the next day I get slapped with a stating I am not too talk too them.

I would play hard ball and get ur shit back. And get that alimony if it's ur favor.
Women will rake u over the coals once they know it's over.

Jus like in hill street blues " get them before they get you [emoji41][emoji202]

Second option. Cut ur losses and move on if it's not that important to ya. Wasn't ur soon to be ex a hot chicky ? [emoji106][emoji202][emoji41][emoji481]

Edit: I don't charge 1k an hour but my fee is a free beer [emoji106]
