I've got a Bosch going on 14 years - all stainless interior and super quiet. I'd buy one again.

X2. My parents have had a Bosch for a few years now. Not a single hiccup and unless you walk right up to it, you cannot hear it running.

Well, no much need when there's never more than 2 people at your house. Milkmoney (hates people) = no guests.

Been in our current house for over 4 years and would say we have used the DW 2-3 times.
The wife cooks and cleans as she goes and I most always finish-up the dishes.

# 1 Miele

#2 Bosch

#3 but unique - Fisher Paykel dish drawers - way easier to load an unload at least the top drawer.

Everything else is an also ran.

What are the thoughts on having all appliances match? I have put in a bunch of dishwashers and they are all crap except the Bosch ones. The last one used star screws and the tub seemed warped and could not level it easily it was $899 but matches the rest of appliances. I just bought a LG in a package deal so it matches the rest.

I like to have the handles closely match the other appliances.

We decided on Kitchenaid appliances for the new build.

I look for the best appliance in each category and just match basic outside.

Absolute handle matches I could care less about, but I don't mix SS palaces with say a white fridge.

Discounts on "cometic packages" are great tool for manufacturers move their dog products.

I like the handles to be pro style and match in my spec stuff. I build a slow steady stream of customs and typically lately it is all thermador, or sub zero and Wolf mixed with possibly and oddball for the Hood, hood liner, or cooktop (if not a high end 48 inch range) . That seems to be what the majority have chosen in my area. Here is the dishwasher view of a kitchen on one tear down + new build that I just got C/O on for some nice older clients I have had going for 10 months . It has the counter depth Sub, Wolf oven and steam oven , microwave drawer, 2 different brands of dishwashers, and a different cook top ! Notice the newer drawer model with different size drawers than the older ones

Finishes should match, brands not so much.

We really liked Thermador products but we couldn't find any local dealers in Havasu.

Funny thing since this is about dishwashers, we did a few homes a while back where I think you got a free high end Thermador dishwasher if you bought a complete package . Not sure that promotion is still on. For your own home or customs I always recommend getting/paying whoever supplies them to install and make sure to get certs. of liability naming you as additionally insured if possible. When all the stuff is dropped off on the cheap from various sources the truckers won't unload it and (if it's not dented or damaged which something usually is :)) the plumber installs the dishwasher, electrician the ovens, finish carpenter talked into the hood, etc. Then the floors are scratched, dishwasher gasket drips 3 months later on the wood floor, all the guys you talked into putting the stuff in are on vacation, and everyone points fingers or denies it.

When we remodeled last year this is the route we went. Got a free Thermador(relabeled Bosch) dishwasher with the purchase of the Thermador range. I like how quiet the dishwasher is. No issues so far, with two kids, it gets run almost everyday.

Ended up getting the Bosch, It's about $140 more but it included Free install, So it made sense to get the better unit and not have the installation expense.

Thank you for your input all.....

Replaced a 15yo dish washer a couple of years ago with a Kitchenaid super quite unit with the recessed handle and front panel display. It cleans well, but dam...it takes like 3 hours to do a load of dishes. Seriously, I was shocked at how long it took the first couple times my wife and kids used it. Yea, it's super quite and probably really water and power efficient but forget about running a couple of loads in a short period of time.

We also replaced our gas clothes drier with a Miele unit. It was twice the price of the mid range units but had great reviews and Miele has a great reputation. After using it for a week we learned to not use the turbo dry option and set it at it's lowest settings unless you plan on losing a bunch of weight every week. This dryer can take a full load of wet towels and dry them in like 30 minutes on the " normal" setting, turbo would drop it to like 15 minutes. It shrinks the shit out of clothing even on the delicate settings.

Can't say its more reliable but the Miele is a very nice unit. Oldest family owned company in Germany if I'm not mistaken. Their tech who did the install was impeccable. I've got two Miele products in my house and they are some of the best pieces of household equipment I've ever owned. Quality engineering and material.
