I'm a county employee in CA and I already get Xmas Eve and Xmas and NYE and NYD off. Its nice to have both.

One Federal holiday we don't get is Indigenous Day (Columbus Day). We have to work.

The problem is most companies on the construction field don’t recognize it as a holiday.

Well duh.

11 holidays, 35 vacation days, 2 personal days, (a year)

10 hospital days, and I accrued 2600 hrs of sick time. prior to retirement.
15 sick days a year.

I'll admit, I was very happy when Uncle Joe gave us the day off tomorrow. We get 3 hours early release the day before a holiday, so instead of getting off at 1 pm tomorrow, I got off at 1 pm today.

Typically we get released about 4 hours early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Think that was also the case on day before Thanksgiving. Was nice getting paid to drive to Havasu for the weekend.
