I have a ranch that has a mile dirt road to get to. There is a oil over flow hose that sticks out the bottom of the motor right infront of the fan blades. Dust gets kicked up from the back of the coach and sticks to the radiator. Drops of oil get sucked up by the blades and stick to the radiator along with dirt. I was chasing over heating issues for ever and learned that dirt roads and diesel pushers don’t mix! The radiator was so clogged it had to be replaced. I believe this caused most of my issues. We use the coach to rodeo out of and everywhere we go is dusty. To combat this I extended that over flow blow by hose out past the coach this helped tremendously. I also pressure wash/ blow out the radiator every trip. I have had no issues with heat now.
yep this was very common on rear radiator coaches before 06-07. They eventually fixed it by extending the breather tube (slobber tube) down below the radiator. My 07 discovery already had the tube extended before I got it, and it never had overheating issues / radiator issues.

I think a lot of this market is like that, dealers gave higher trade in amounts to move their new rigs, old junk was selling no problem 8 months ago in the FOMO time, add in the xx,xxx amount they are trying to add on to junk and it makes it a tough area of the market to find a gem.

I'm sure they are out there, but I would have my search looking for 1-2 owner rigs private party.

My FIL flew to Texas for his Pheaton, once to go look at it and another time to bring it back. He had been looking for awhile and found a few locally that didn't work out for one reason or another.

You may want to look at that Alpine if you are still in the Phoenix area. It is a 2006 with a 400 Cummins.

After having owned motorhomes since the late 70s and the following diesel pushers Fleetwood Discovery, Monaco Diplomat, Fleetwood Revolution, Monaco signature and now a 45ft Newmar Mountain Aire. They all take lots of work to keep them up, after every trip on the way home my wife starts making a list of what needs to be tightened, replace and/or repaired. You are basicly taking a house down the interstate with pot holes, weather and everything else you can think of. As long as you stay on top of the issues you will enjoy the motohome lifestyle. But if you do not stay on top within a year or so you will have a rolling bag of shit.

Kind of like looking at houses on the internet that look perfect until you see it in person. Did that for a few years until we found the one that works.

Trawick is not far from a job site I had to visit and stopped in one day. They have a lot of really nice rigs that are not completely hammered. Prices are a little on the high side but all they deal in is top of the line coaches that are not beat up.

Yes. They mainly deal in Prevost's and other high end units. Usually little more than PP but units are not junk and easy to deal with. They also helped with registering in Montana.

Wanna just sign and drive a one of a kind pre def unit? Oregon Motor Coach has super nice stuff in the old Country Coach factory. They post stuff on YouTube and have excellent reviews. Most everyone previously worked at Country Coach.
Also check out Andrew Steele, Brian’s RV reviews, and AZ Expert on you tube.
A lot of great info from all of these guys on what to buy and what not to buy.
I’m a Newmar fan boy

For the one person I encounter on the road that gets it......it will be awesome
This brought back a funny memory from my IndyCar racing days. In 2004 we had a race at Nashville Superspeedway. It was a new track, so our first race there.

It had been announced that Wynnona would be the Grand Marshal or something like that. Just before prerace stuff began, a Class 8 tractor towing an unmarked transporter came through a gate opening in the wall near Turn 4, and high centered on the track banking. It wasn't moving.

Minutes passed. We were on the pit lane with the car, and someone said "So WTF are they going to do? It's just sitting there." I said "No worries guys, they're going to open the back and drop the liftgate. When Wynonna gets out, the trailer will then clear the track."

😁

Beaver coaches...a friend of mine has owned several of them through the years and loves them. He's upgraded a 3 times now in their line. They travel all summer to escape the river heat in theirs. He tows a open stacker trailer he built with his can am and raptor on it so they can play as they like while traveling. He said the build quality is excellent. As a retired furniture/cabinet shop owner he stated the cabinet build quality in them is second to none and as we all know these things are all full up with woodwork/cabinetry. He' says they're the only coach he'll own. Good luck on your search. I hope you find exactly what your looking for soon.

there's some really nice looking coaches on there. thx for the link.
I'm partial to my Foretravel and MOT is just down the street from them. They do a lot of used Foretravels. I'm keeping an eye out for one for my parents currently.

Bummer that it was tore up / junk. Hard to come by clean used units. First person that looked at my discovery bought it... they were amazed at the condition it was in. So was I when I bought it from the OG owner.
