Should it be postponed until next year at the same time and paid entries be valid next year?

So many people have boats needing to be shipped out, homes rented, hotels, crew flying out, etc. They’ll wait till the last min to announce it’s canceled to where no one is going to be able to get their money back. I’m sure they don’t want to even say it’s canceled because they stood so hard in the beginning saying they won’t cancel it and they don’t want to look stupid. There was a much better way they could’ve got about it with their initial announcement.

I take it back. Their website says it’s still on. I thought I saw a post canceling it.

They can cancel the actual poker run, but hopefully just keep the lake open. . .

Havasu seems to be at least a couple of weeks behind what we are doing here in SoCal. If that's the case, things are going to get more locked down out there the next few weeks.
You should see how many California people showed up to party it up.

They’re good people. I’m sure they’re not doing it to be malicious. Having a chunk of change on the line and painting yourself into a corner will cause people to make not so great decisions. I hope they’re able to reschedule to a mid-Summer date or put the deposits towards Monster Bash to make it right. I know if Monster Bash is on I’ll be there.

Has nothing to do with shit actually being locked down here in SoCal. They are not restricting movement here (people can still drive to AZ), just what facilities are open, and what activities are allowed. If Arizona goes down the same path, which I think they will, there is no way the events surrounding the run will be allowed.

I agree with you. I’m just saying to many people are not taking this seriously. All it will do is drag this out.

I think there are some good valid statements written, however I am not registered for the event so I don't feel I have a right to voice my opinion (no dog in fight). Registered guests need to weigh out their options and do what's best for them during what is being described as uncertain times.

If DS is cancelled they will have to refund the money, It would not be right to say you have to go to Monster Bash. The two events are very different and at the end of the year people may have other plans and or poker runs to go to.

Guess it depends on what their contract reads. [emoji2369]

I don't think too many people will have a pay check after a week or two.
I have no work this week, and if this continues another week or two, employees will be laid off.

At some point in the future, I expect business as usual, and with the right stimulus package, we might be able to pull this "experiment in healthcare" off.

Can’t they just cancel the Street Party and retain the Poker Run and Shootout? It’s not like people aren’t going to be boating on the lake (at a 6’ Social Distance of course, lol)

Drivers meeting, banquet and awards ceremony, all a bit more than a 10 people, if you cancel those events and the street fair there isn’t a whole lot of storm left in desert storm.

Well they might have no choice if they close all boat ramps. Florida just did it and I heard like mead did as well.

Forgot about that. As sad as I am to say this, in all fairness to everybody they should just make it official and refund everybody. 😢

Gut says some of registration $$ was spent on permit fees, etc
Not sure they can refund 100% of registration unless they had a reserve

As somebody who has gone and registered a number of times - I don’t need to hear from them about an “official” decision.

If I were registered this year (I’m not) there would be no way on earth I would attend.

I’d be out without a doubt.
