Surprised you guys are seeing them in winter. I have scorpions in the spring and summer but they seem to disappear when it’s cold. I’m in mohave Valley. Never had one in the house yet. But I’m highly aware of them when it starts warming up.

Pics or it didn’t happen. On your face? Couldn’t imagine. That would creep me out for a bit. 😖 Glad you’re ok.

Not only for sous vide searing, but also works for bug eradication.

You know in eleven years of living here I saw one baby scorpion in our shower when we first moved here..

Stacy called the pest control guy the next day and explained it will never be happening again. Lol

Other than that eleven years scorpion free? Snake free, and never seen a centipede either?
You just cursed yourself

We have found a couple centipedes on the ceiling inside, few small scorpions, a Tarantula and a handfull of snakes outside and these 2 in the garage. The one is called a tail less whip scorpion. They didnt try to kill each other as mucha s I pushed them together so it was SPLAT time!

There are tarantulas in Havasu, I’ve seen two at the Springs at our place.

Someone on here recommended this… it works, sssoooo it should be obvious that you can’t get it or have it shipped to California. Had it shipped to Havasu address 🥰 I spray about three times a year… hardly any bugs, never a scorpion 🦂 since spraying. Only one before spraying.

The stuff above works very well on scorpions. Some pesticides won’t bother them at all.

*but if you get rid of the food source.. crickets and such. That helps

Wheeew. I’m ok with tarantulas. Not scorpions.

I almost erased all my Zillow homes I had saved. 😂😂

Sorry spoke too soon. Was just at a birthday party with my neighbor. They found one scorpion last summer. We have a bug guy, so haven’t seen anything :)

Also be sure to watch for any hitchhikers on your front porch delivery boxes. 😳

Shortly after we moved into our new house, I had some snake tongs delivered (lots of rattlesnakes around here). The box sat on the front patio all afternoon and, apparently, a giant desert centipede decided to be a stowaway and hitch a ride inside the house. I didn't open the box right away, but instead leaned the tall box up against the wall. Later that night, Mr.DB and I were sitting on the couch and felt a thud on the cushion between us. That centipede had crawled up the wall and across the ceiling and fell, when it ran out of talent, thankfully between the two of us. Bites from those bastards can be 'excruciating'. That jerk darted between the couch cushions and we spent the next hour ripping the couch apart to find it. Finally, with all of the sections of the couch separated, we finally found it. Wish I would have taken a pic, but it was pretty messy after his introduction to Mr.DB's size 13 flop.

Those fuckers are evil.... my buddy almost built a mote around his Maui home due to them. And they friggin jump for the calve bites. Evil. He bought out there and I went out and I said, " Well its lovely and all but I wanna know what insects ya got on this island with all this perfection?" Surely there's some evil shit looking to kill ya? All they seem to have is centipedes and scorpions and his monthly bug sprayer takes care of em now.

I made the mistake of buying the wife a blacklight years ago. We have a monthly bug guy but she still likes to go out each night during the summer to see what she can find.
After years of cleaning scorpion guts off of my flip flops, I bought her a plumbers torch. It’s not unusual to see her walking around the backyard with a blacklight, a plumbers torch and a glass of wine. Lol

They're just part of living out here and don't forget the Tarantulas. These weren't in the house, but I've had both in the house before. View attachment 1186617 View attachment 1186618

That tarantiua is Aphonopelma Chalcodes or Arizona Blonde. And, it's a boy. They sell that exact tarantula down the street at the reptile store here in Vegas for $29.99. They have tons of them. They're pretty chill tarantulas and can be held ....serious
