Father-in-law grew up on a dairy farm in New York.
So his daughter, my wife, grew up with animals. When they were little, they lived in Lancaster, and raised rabbits. I guess they raised them for food. Then they eventually found their way into the valley. His kids they grew up with a fox raccoon, crow, ferrets, and the dogs aren’t even worth mentioning.
She likes to fish, and has no problem gutting one.

An alternate take on this topic:

I grew up with horses, sheep, llamas, rabbits, chickens, ducks and turkeys. We even had a baby buffalo once that I had to bottle feed. I used to feed them twice a day as chores before breakfast and when I got home from school before dinner. Weekends I’d muck stalls. Rode my horse a lot, and had to do all the grooming and taking care of all the tack.

I’ve never met any chick with any background of animals. They all think I’m weird for having that history.

I certainly plan to go back to that in retirement as I enjoyed it.

Wife was raised in a “strict” Mormon family. The kids were expected to follow the teachings. Her parents not so much. She was, much to my dismay, the exact opposite of easy. Her mom put “Jewish/Catholic guilt to shame”. I couldn’t get those knees open with the jaws of life. In the end it wasn’t all bad. My right forearm has always been a little larger. Think it really helped my softball/golf game.

My wife had horses. She rode hunt seat style.
She found a horse she wanted and asked if ”we‘ could buy it. This was in 1994, the horse was $3500. We bought it.
She trained and rode that horse for several years. At a show one of the Army Officers from the Fort offered her $15,000 for her horse.
I said sell the horse put $10,000 in savings and take the $5000 and buy another one. She said no.
I pushed real hard for a couple of days to get her to do it.
I explained over and over how much easier she could justify everything she wanted to get if she used this method.
She went for the kill shot.
”Do I tell you what to do with your off-road cars?”
End of discussion.
I’m not a smart man but being unhindered in all the sex and off roading is worth shutting your mouth for.


Ok fast forward a few years 3 kids, 1 adopted and several fostered and such horses get sold and she moved into full time house wife.

OK funny horse girl story………

Since my wife road hunt seat and she was very petite (size 0, 92 lbs, 5’1”) we would be at the county fairs and she could ride the mechanical bull and not get thrown. She did it many times. Fast forward and we had been married for a year or two (1994ish) and the local radio station changed its format from pop to country. Q104 in Kansas City with Randy Miller. They started promoting the Beaumont Club and advertised for a ”Bikini Buck Off” competition on Wednesday morning that paid $500 to the winner. My wife got my two best friends to take her unbeknownst to me because she thought I might not let her do it but she knew she could easily win it, Wednesday was her day off and my buddies agreed to do it for the story (and the “landscape”) I’m sure. Both of them took the morning off.
My wife was smoking hot especially in a Bikini. She easily won and got the $500 plus an extra $200 for not being thrown at all.

It was a few weeks before they told me. I was disappointed no pictures. My wife wouldn’t take the chance I’d object.
