First year out to this and had a great time. I am fairly sure that "slowest boat" was between a pontoon boat and me. 😝 It was still a great time. I have a few friends that are jealous that they bailed and didn't come.

I should have gone to Rusty Porthole. The food at Riverboat has gotten worse and the dock area is so shallow that it makes Frank's Tract look good.

Is there a slightly deeper path across Franks Tract to get port hole quicker?

These are both pretty straight shots. Only need to slow down for filthy mud hens.

We were in the 35 Jaguar. This was our first year actually running with a group, and tying up at Windmill. Besides having carb issues on the starboard motor and then losing a driveshaft on the port motor, we had a great time and will attend more runs in the future!

What are the details on that boat? Looked pretty much all business.

The first pleasure version of the Jaguar race hull, 1000 ish hp motors, #6 drives. Pretty much an old offshore race boat with not a lot of frills. There is a lot of cool history with Jaguar racing, and our goal is to keep it as old school and original as possible.

Need a pic of this boat. I'm sure I saw it but not sure which one it is.

I have always been told to stay away from the north route due to pilings and sunk tractors. I always come out of Old River, and make a straight line towards Rusty Porthole. I use the 3 palm trees as a reference.

Be careful at the north end.
Friend hit an exposed pile, I think from an old pier or something. Almost ripped drive off.
Low tide is not a good time to go through Frank’s tract.
Yep...id avoid the red area. Ive never ventured over there. But I have basically made a b-line for the 3 palm trees from the main entrances coming from Old River or Holland Tract without issue.

My Buddy Doug used to own that boat? Are you a friend of his?

Yes, My brother bought it from a friend of Doug’s. We have gone with Doug to LOTO the last four years. You and I have actually met a couple times at CFW. I usually drag Kenny Francis out with me. If you look close at the pics from Hooky Day you can see him in the back seat.

Cool. Yeah I talked to Kenny at CFW a couple years ago. My parents were in the same drag boat club with him, and we went camping quite a few times. When I was a little kid, his Dad (Howard I believe), kept an eye on me at the races. Good times.
