The rut has officially started in Pa. Last night I was given the photo op of a lifetime while archery hunting.

So did you shoot him when he couldn't get away?

We have 20-30 that come out in the hayfield across the street every evening about an hour or two before sundown. I call it Deer:30. Sometimes they wander over into our yard. I'd rather them stay across the street.

I hate deer, nothing but filthy rats to me. Most of my neighbors feed them like they are their pets. Winter is brutal for them since most of my neighbors head to Florida for the winter. Game commission turns their back to it. I’m in a gated community where no hunting is allowed so we are infested with them. Scooped up a couple dead fawns in the mulch beds this year.

We don't have a lot of deer in any of the areas I'v ever lived in..

Why are they considered such a nuisance?

There's so many deer where I live now (Texas hill country) it's unreal.. If you ever say "brush guard" and not a deer guard, people will know you're not from around here lol.

Last week I was driving home around 11pm from a party in Canyon Lake (Texas) and I swear I saw a deer for every acre as I was driving through their little community.. Then once I get on the highway, I go 80mph during the day, but only 50mph at night. Two hands on the wheel, eyes peeled. Sketchy. The only good thing is the deer are so used to cars and people that they don't really spook and run into the road, but regardless there's a deer carcass every few miles on all the highways/freeways.

It's only a matter of when, not if, that someone hits a deer. If it's in a car and not a truck, it sucks.

That's why we hate them.

A co-worker who grew up in Texas described deer as “pets”, until hunting season, then one day they harvest 10-15 of them, and assemble line the process of harvesting the meat.

They are nuisance until you want to hunt them, then it turns into $1500 to hunt their property...just like wild boar up north, all the farmers complain about them and the damage they do...but if you ask to help eradicate their problem, all of a sudden they want to charge you...

First off, Ticks/lyme disease . It’s a huge problem where we are at. Even Lost a dog over it (not myron). They carry other disease like chronic wasting disease, which they get from congregating in large groups.

They will eat every last standing flower or bush down to nothing. Then they shit, piss, scratch and dig up the yard. They bed down also. I’m not talking 1 or 2 deer here, we get packs of a dozen or so at a time. They fuck shit up big time.

Deer aren’t stupid, you leave food out for a deer it will come back. Along with raccoons and bear. Then the coyotes come in hunting the deer. Feed the same deer every day they start coming closer and closer until they eat out of your hands. My idiot neighbors (that aren’t that close) do this so then the deer come trolling through my place and the next thing you know they are up on the deck looking in the door or walking right up to the kids if they are sitting outside eating lunch.

And lastly, they always know the worst possible time to run out in front of your car. The highways this time of year look like a slaughterhouse, every 100 yards blood stains and bodies.

A few week old fawns are cute but I’d like to shoot every deer i see and let it lay there for dead lol
