Anyone up for boat run to the Springs this December? Maybe on Nov 30th or Dec 1st. I know Nov 30th is not a Dec run. 😁 Dec 1st would be my choice as it in my b-day but it is Sunday and I know many leave town back to home for the work week. The following week is Desert bash and Toys For Tots so it is out. Not sure if I will be in town the following week but it might be better for the masses and you have a good chance I will not be able to make it. 🤪 I thought that we did it last year with the group but it looks like it did not happen. The wife and I did launch on the 5th for the last run of the year. Would be great to have a group if anyone is in town and up for it…..

Question for you guys that run in the winter. Do you prop "up" with the cold air and cold water?
I've always wanted to run my boat in the winter to see how it would run

I have not done anything. I do know that it runs cooler and feels a little peppy. Also the water is so smooth. Just on Saturday we went out for a trip around the island. Going by Site 6 is typically rough. With water like glass I was able to push the throttle up higher than the wife has ever been with no complaints. Then I realized that the trim tabs were all the way down to 5 which does not happen often. A prop swap might be fun this winter one of the days. Do you go up or down for top speed? Also how do I find what is safe RPMs for a Boost Power Marine engine?

We've been boating fall to spring for the past 10 years. Nothing different needed as far as the boat is concerned. Running Parker your bundled up or jacket depending, skiing and boarding in wetsuits. Riding motorcycles and quads and shooting just the same. Dressed warm.

We will be on Parker for a week between Xmas and New years and the boat will be in the water. We plan to launch at The Springs one of the days were there.

In my mind, prop up would be moving to a higher pitch. I run a 26P Bravo. I'd like to try a 28P

I think that is the same prop that I have. Might have to look for a 28. 👍

Just don’t do it on the weekend of desert bash is all I care about
Right there with you Dave. 👍 Then the next week is boat parade but that is at night so more than enough time to make down to the Springs.

I bounce back and forth between a 26p and a 28p depending on how many people, temperature and of course motivation to actually change the prop.. Lol. the 26P typically is on it during the summer.

I did change it out to the 28p 2 years ago at the December breakfast run. That was the fastest my boat has ever run 83.9 for about 5 minutes pinned :p. it was pretty cool that morning and the boat definitely ran as good as it ever has. Summer time with that prop, best I've ever gotten is 81.

My boat came with a 26 but can't push redline in the summer with full tanks all the crap, drinks, ice, etc. I usually run a 24 and still get the same top speed as the 26.
I've run a few times in cooler weather and the motor definitely breathes better.

I see a couple of possible dates so I'll commit to a firm possibility of a definite maybe. Keep me in the loop for when this is happening .

@HNL2LHC Since I'm back to work full time and weekend work is a crap shoot if I'm working or not , gotta make up from the Writers / Actor Strikes . 7th is out since Desert Bash so I vote for the 14th . Going from a 26p to a 28p is not enough change for me as it only gets 2MPH faster ( not worth changing in my opinion ) .

I looked for you guys last time we were out. Wanted to stop by and say hi and properly meet you guys. I felt bad last time we met, we had other friends we ran into and was trying to talk with both of you
No worries at all. We plan to leave Montana Saturday morning. There is white stuff on the ground. High is 35°F. Time to peel out. :) See you some time this winter.
