Anyone up for boat run to the Springs this December? Maybe on Nov 30th or Dec 1st. I know Nov 30th is not a Dec run. šŸ˜ Dec 1st would be my choice as it in my b-day but it is Sunday and I know many leave town back to home for the work week. The following week is Desert bash and Toys For Tots so it is out. Not sure if I will be in town the following week but it might be better for the masses and you have a good chance I will not be able to make it. šŸ¤Ŗ I thought that we did it last year with the group but it looks like it did not happen. The wife and I did launch on the 5th for the last run of the year. Would be great to have a group if anyone is in town and up for itā€¦..

Question for you guys that run in the winter. Do you prop "up" with the cold air and cold water?
I've always wanted to run my boat in the winter to see how it would run

I have not done anything. I do know that it runs cooler and feels a little peppy. Also the water is so smooth. Just on Saturday we went out for a trip around the island. Going by Site 6 is typically rough. With water like glass I was able to push the throttle up higher than the wife has ever been with no complaints. Then I realized that the trim tabs were all the way down to 5 which does not happen often. A prop swap might be fun this winter one of the days. Do you go up or down for top speed? Also how do I find what is safe RPMs for a Boost Power Marine engine?

We've been boating fall to spring for the past 10 years. Nothing different needed as far as the boat is concerned. Running Parker your bundled up or jacket depending, skiing and boarding in wetsuits. Riding motorcycles and quads and shooting just the same. Dressed warm.

We will be on Parker for a week between Xmas and New years and the boat will be in the water. We plan to launch at The Springs one of the days were there.

In my mind, prop up would be moving to a higher pitch. I run a 26P Bravo. I'd like to try a 28P

I think that is the same prop that I have. Might have to look for a 28. šŸ‘

28 is slower out of the hole but faster top speed. Drive doesn't like the bigger prop as much.

Right there with you Dave. šŸ‘ Then the next week is boat parade but that is at night so more than enough time to make down to the Springs.

I bounce back and forth between a 26p and a 28p depending on how many people, temperature and of course motivation to actually change the prop.. Lol. the 26P typically is on it during the summer.

I did change it out to the 28p 2 years ago at the December breakfast run. That was the fastest my boat has ever run 83.9 for about 5 minutes pinned :p. it was pretty cool that morning and the boat definitely ran as good as it ever has. Summer time with that prop, best I've ever gotten is 81.

My boat came with a 26 but can't push redline in the summer with full tanks all the crap, drinks, ice, etc. I usually run a 24 and still get the same top speed as the 26.
I've run a few times in cooler weather and the motor definitely breathes better.

I see a couple of possible dates so I'll commit to a firm possibility of a definite maybe. Keep me in the loop for when this is happening .

@HNL2LHC Since I'm back to work full time and weekend work is a crap shoot if I'm working or not , gotta make up from the Writers / Actor Strikes . 7th is out since Desert Bash so I vote for the 14th . Going from a 26p to a 28p is not enough change for me as it only gets 2MPH faster ( not worth changing in my opinion ) .

Alright Looks like not many interested. I am posting up one more time. Might not be in town for the 14th so I am thinking that this weekend at least and maybe again on the 14th. Anyone it was split for Sat or Sunday. I am thinking Saturday the 30th. If anyone wants to go on Sunday Iā€™d be open for that as well. šŸ‘ Thinking launching to meet up at the buoy line in Thompson bay at 11am and head down to the Springs for lunch. Who is interested?

Alright who is ready to go to lunch? I am thinking most people are in town for Saturdays. The 14th is out for us so tomorrow is the day!!!

We are going to launch at 10:30am. Head to the buoy line and head out at 11am to have lunch at the springs. That will get us a bit warmer on the weather. Is anyone still interested?

This will be known as the ā€œDecember in November Run to the Springsā€ šŸ¤£ šŸ¤£

It was a great day. Ended up having @JFMFG and his friend join us. Great to finally be able to meet up. Great looking boats they had only to be eclipsed by great wives and kids. Loved to see the energy of the kids while hanging in Thompson Bay and at the Springs. We had @Sportin' Wood & @angiebaby with us in our boat. It is so nice to have them back in town to join In. Thanks again for lunch Jeff it was very generous of you. Thanks to Zach for the b-day drink it was a nice finish to the day. Look forward to the next time that we are able to get together. Thinking that it would be fun for our son to join in as well. Maybe you guys would be up for off-roading over the winter.

It was really nice int he AM but the afternoon got a bit windy even though it was not on the weather report. Good thing is that the winds coming back were to us so the chops didnā€™t bother me at least. Not sure of the others on my boat.

Didnā€™t take many photos as I am in the boat. The wife typically doesnā€™t take photos so this all that I got. It was crazy to see how smooth th water was when we launched. All in all it was another great boating day in December even if it was still November. Good thing is that there is still days to boat in Dec if anyone is up to it. LOL

Looks like I didnā€™t get a photo of Jeff and Angie. Sorry guys will have to do that on Friday or during the Desert Bash next week. šŸ‘

Did anyone else show up?
Just the three amigos, Dave. Others might say Three Stoogesā€¦.. šŸ¤Ŗ šŸ¤Ŗ šŸ¤Ŗ Was surprised to see that your boat is back in the shop @RiverDave. It was gone when we picked up our boat for service. Hope that you get things sorted out soon. Also incase you didnā€™t realize It we were the ones that yelled Dave as we passed by on our Harley on McCulloch in the middle of the week. You were just getting out of your truck as we passed by. I am sure it a Daily occurrence for a mayor to be like yourself. šŸ˜
