Have you ever slept on one of your arms so long that it was dead when you woke up? I'm talking dead dead! Like you're looking at it and you know it's supposed to be moving and you know your brain is asking it to move and it's not dead!

It actually happens to me more often than I'd like. This morning I was waking up and I rolled over to grab the remote for the TV and when I went to reach for it with the arm I slept on....... nothing! As I rolled over my dead arm didn't follow. I had to pick up my arm with my other hand to move it. It felt like I was moving a dead body.

It took about 10 min for the blood to flow again and the tingling sensation felt like 1000's of bee stings from the inside out.

Anyone else ever do this?

Not to that extreme. Might need to talk the Doc about sleep disorders. I'm no medical expert by any means but stuff like that is concerning.

Next time that happens, call in sick, cut the arm off, call me and we'll go shark fishing. :D

I put my hands to sleep at least once a week but never a whole arm and I'm a fat guy.

Yep, I get this from time to time as well. Whole arm. I'll try to roll over and the arm won't move. Grab it with the other arm and have to move it that way. It doesn't seem to last as long as you describe, but it is uncomfortable. I've never been concerned with it, more annoying than anything else.

I'm pretty sure it'd not a sleep disorder. I fall asleep in the weirdest positions some times. Rolling over onto my arm in the middle of the night happens often.

Happens to me a lot. But I know it is the way I sleep. On my side/belly, with my arm under my pillow, under my head. Doesn't matter which side I sleep on, it's about the same position each side. It isn't doing my shoulders any good either.

Yup, just as you describe. Happens from time to time. Less than 10 minutes and it wakes back up and ready to go. Never went to Dr. about it. But you are right. It is weird. Sometimes when I first awake I can get it to move but the degree of control is all over the place. Tingles, then settles down and back to normal. Whatever normal is.

This happens to me about once a week. It's the weirdest feeling. My whole arm goes numb have to pick it up to move it and get the blood flowing to it again. Your right about it feeling like a bunch of bee stings from the inside. Kinda freaks me out when it happens.

Happens to me at least once a week. I have to pick up my arm and flip it over my chest just to roll over. Its when I sleep on my side or belly. Hit up the doctor once at a physical. He laughed and said "join the club" Went on to say your body weight pinches or slows the blood flow to the arm which causes the "dead arm". the tingling feeling is the arm filling back up with blood. I thought it was like a pinched nerve or something. OH, and that thread about "sleeping with a stranger....." that does not work. :D:D:D

If I sleep with my hands behind my head that used to happen.. I woke up once and had to flop both of my arms on my chest and I could not move anything below the shoulder for a few minutes.. Tripped me out. Hasn't happened in years though.
