Should be a great weekend. Temps are great and the wind should subside by Saturday :)

Calm before the storm...

The mystery boat from Desert Storm is here... It's an old Jones. This particular one was actually rigged by DCB and the owner is in the process of reproducing them with the help of Eticket. Hoping to have their first one done by Desert Storm 2014. Bitchin old boat. Owner, Ronny Jones says this one runs mid 80's with a heavy lay up and a 300 Merc...

Dave H prob called the nautical and said "if I'm going to have millions of dollars of boats docked here and paying you the money I'm paying you for the event...... you WILL give us good docks" :skull

Not to jack the thread, but what kind of bottom does that boat have? That thing is cool!

I'm not sure. It may be an original tooling by Jones but I'm not the guy to ask. I do know it's a true tunnel.

In the late 70's there were some "Jones" tunnels made. Being old and baked on scotch, I think it was "Ted Jones". There were five made. They were made in Portland or Seattle as best as I can remember. The one that came to phoenix was rigged at the Sea Ray plant with a 260 merc and alpha drive. Faster than snot for the time. High 60's, low 70's in a completely stock 260. Ate one drive over a period of 18 months or so of hard use. It was a true tunnel and turned like it was on rails. It did get very light and blow way up several times but never all the way over. It felt scary light at speed into the wind and you always thought you were a gust or a couple miles an hour away from going all the way over. I am pretty sure it was roughly 20 or 21 feet. Looked very similar to that picture. It would be interesting to see if it is the same hull or the same "Ted Jones"? The boat was sold used for 10,500 in 81 or 82.

Thanks for the info. That sounds like the right boat. It's a pretty cool old school setup.

As I recall, this is also a Jones.

The early Jones 20s were designed and built by Ron Jones Sr. His dad, Ted Jones, acquired the mold and built them for several years.

All were originally shovel nose but they did pickle fork conversions on several of the boats.

This is my wife's Jones after a long restoration.

Several were built with a center pod and I/O setups.

I think this guy drives a skater. :D

Every time I see this boat I say to myself "I cannot believe it rolled in front of the sandbar". It is enormous and looks awesome with the full cap.

This boat is the same size but does not look as big for some reason.

Enough day dreaming time to get out on the lake. It is going to be a great day.

Took a ride today in the blue M31 with owner, Brad and his wife, Cindy... Awesome folks from Canada and incredibly generous to give a total stranger a ride in the poker run! Thanks Brad and Cindy!

Thanks! Having a great time! The new red M41 is absolutely stunning. The silver 41 was my favorite boat, but this thing is easily it's equal... And it may end up my new favorite :D

Is that M31 metal flake? It looks a little grainy like there's some sparkle in it or something.

Cool, saw rollbar boat that had a drawl fine flake in it a kills of weeks ago, looked red until the afternoon sun hit it then it glowed. Really cool looking effect that doesn't come across very well in a picture.

Off the hook boats, and great pics.
Tom I'd love to see you work your "magic" with some more pics of the very first DCB in that little bay...the multiple shades of blue and silver. That gel scheme and execution really looks especially perfect to me.
But they are all awesome.
Paul ruined me forever that day he took me for a ride in his F29.
