Its not a DVR its Streaming Media Device with no limits. You don't need DVR anymore because everything you, your wife and your kids watch is on demand on the box and it updates hourly. Once your show is aired it will be available on the box the next day commercial free. (DVR can't do that)

Question like most people.

So I am using ATT Uverse. The modem and all TV's in my house are on cat 5 cable.

So my ATT modem can't even support the Wifi on my smart TV. Way too slow so I'm sure it won't work with this box.
My contract with ATT is up and I can cancel anytime.

So what internet service provider would I need? or what would I have to get to get the box to work correctly?

You can watch live PPV you can't record it. However it will be pre-recorded the next day to watch on demand

This has been around a LONG time. I'm glad someone finally came out and said it.

Im concerned with Inmates trying to ditch Cable and Satellite thinking this is the magic ticket. Its not if you are a die hard TV person. (I could give a rats ass about TV, but better ask your better half!!)

Trust me, I tried this last year with a jailbroken Apple TV. The girlfriend was about to have my nuts in a sling! Friday night and Real Housewives is Pixelating on a server in Istanbul. Dish was installed the next Monday. LOL

Its cool to play around with, but please inmates, ask some others who have used it first before kicking your provider to the curb.:thumbsup

As long as you are streaming and not downloading movies our laws revolve around downloaded content which becomes intellectual property that can be seen on your computer as a file and is punishable by a Misdemeanor, however there is no download enforcement agency flying around in black choppers waiting to swoop down and arrest you. As long as you are streaming video content on this box and not downloading, the data usage to any ISP is the same as Netflix, Hulu, Roku or APTV2. Also for those of you who are worrywarts, as you watch a movie or TV Show the box is purging all traces of data, if you go back 30 seconds lets say, it is able to recover and replay that 30 seconds. So once you have finished watching whatever its like you never watch it. Its called "Auto Purge", cool bananas!

The developers and engineers who have created the multi-platform proprietary firmware in this box have invested hundreds of hours into creating many cool features that set us way far apart from all who claim similar technology. We can not be held responsible for any content that can be accesses through the Stream Smart device because there is nothing illegal about selling android technology.

As for third party addon developers they also cannot be held responsible either because all they do is provide the links and Metadata to the world for anyone to access and play content from other open sourced server developers who also can't be held liable because they only provide the means for anyone to anonymously upload movies and TV Shows to that server which can be accessed through the links provided by the addon developers.

So to sum it all up, this is the best pass the buck game ever invented because no one legally is doing anything wrong.

This is the facts regardless of the content being pirated or not, there is no one to arrest because it was all done anonymously. And it can't be shut down!

I think the "RDP" box has a couple "pay" apps/channels included. That's the difference.

And I suspect a better level of customer support. "Cable Box Dave" has done a great job of responding to posts and follow up while still dealing with a web designer that crashed his site while trying to give the Inmates a better deal.

It is old technology that is being capitalized on. It would be very hard to replace cable all together.. If you are patient enough I guess you could do it.

Yes you can do the add-ons yourself. BUT, just to get the Ustvnow with 28 channels you will be spending $29 a month for a subscription, which is included with Dave's Magic Box.

I just found out about this stuff last week.. LOLl I have done a little research on it since then though, and here's basically what I have figured out. This thing is fairly easy to use, and it's always hooked to the TV and it doesn't cost a lot. I'm not going to be hooking my laptop up to my TV everytime I want to watch TV.

I haven't had anything buffer at my Havasu house with 15mbps and it's been a little over a week. I brought it to Parker with me last night and plugged it in, with a 10mbps speed, and it buffered a couple times, but we also had multiple wifi devices going at once. If I stopped surfing RDP on my computer at the same time it worked.. But I had to stream it in "SD" instead of "HD." I would say for my Parker house it probably wouldn't be worth it without upgrading the internet here.

Had to deal with an issue with Paypal today they froze my acct because someone from RDP called them and reported that I was selling illegal HBO & Showtime. Of course this is not the case. I sell a box that can get HBO shows but through third party developers I have no control of. I had to spend half the day writing an appeals letter to Paypal explaining in detail what I sell. They disabled my account and told me they were holding all monies for 180 days. That's why I am in panic mode.

You bet they are real-time. PPV plays in HD with no buffering because this is one of the special features we pay for monthly so our customers don't have to. As for live sports some plays in HD and some don't that's the nature of XBMC you never know how it's going to stream.

Not to kill the sale but it would be dishonest to let you buy one just to find out your Hotspot isn't strong enough. Here's the problem with using a mobile Hotspot or your phone, depending on the carrier and their coverage map, you would have to know if you are in a 4G area which would hypothetically give you as much as 18mbps download speed, which is plenty fast however using it all the time could swell your battery and ruin your phone especially an Iphone which are sealed. And when in a 3G area you will only generate about 3mbps which will not provide enough data speed to play anything.

The S3 Pro is a highly advanced Android device that basically turns your TV into a huge Android tablet and requires super fast download speed (minimum 13 mpbs) to process and play pre-recorded media. I have done over 400 in-home demos and what I have learned is Cable Fiber Optic Providers are the best and DSL providers like AT&T or Century Link just suck and is the thorn in my side. If you have more than 13 mbps download speed or have the ability to upgrade to a higher speed and downgrade your channels or completely cut your cable all together you will save a boat load of money on premium cable channels and PPV Events.

My station is under 2 cell towers. Here's what I'm getting...
Faster than my Wi-Fi at home. Looks like it should work just fine through my hotspot. Worth a try. Will be giving you a call later today.
