Nobody has any rattlers showing up yet. I guess they are starting out here in the Cave Creek/N Scottsdale area now

LOL that's funny... Snakes don't bother me in the least, but if there were a big fat black widow on that box when I picked it up, I'd probably pass the fuck out

I HATE black widows. I was bit by one last year and had to have skin graft surgery. That are nasty devils

Order Cy-Kick and spray at the higher rate. Our pest control guy recommended it. Worked at our river house and cabana which were pretty bad. One night we got 25 in the Moonridge Cabanas. From then on I washed down the cabana with cy- kick

Ive seen some rattlers in the road, none at the house since ive been killing the pack rats. My son rode to seven springs via trail 4 and saw 4 gila monsters

I am in a rural part of Cave Creek and so far none this year. Moved to the desert from FL about a year ago, and the all the desert critters (or the thought of) really freaked me out at first. Saw 2 rattlers late last summer and that's it. I threw water on one to see it bow up and "wow" - have never seen anything like that before. Had no idea how loud it would be. It was awesome site to see for desert newbie. I have the inside/outside sprayed monthly for the scorpions and so far no issues.

I think the question, at this point, is, 'can I order those snakes in bulk on Amazon since they kill rattlers?!'

They look to be about 4.00 - 10.00 a piece for little ones.. More for adults.

Where did you find them so cheap? I would not mind a couple to deal with my rodent probs. As a greenie they would get rattlesnakes as well.

I'm not hugely scared of snakes, most likely because I have never dealt with them but I don't think I'd dig having to deal with them. But how the hell does this king snake avoid being F'd up by a rattler? And will a King snake attack a human? Fangs / venom? If not, I'd have a few of them around. LOL

Obviously I have King snakes around ,but the rattlers are still here too.I usually shoot one or two each summer and they are almost always on the patio right up by the house.I do have my dog trained in rattle snake avoidance.I hope it works

Kind of a funny story depending on who you ask,When I first moved in to this house the wife had a love bird. I had it hanging in a big cage out on a tree while I was doing some work inside the house.I heard it out there going nuts and just assumed it was enjoying being outside. Later that afternoon when I went out to bring it back inside there was a King Snake in the cage,it had swallowed the bird then couldn't get out of the cage because of the bulge from the bird.I hated that loud messy bird anyway

The only "good" snake is a dead snake. With that said I have eaten rattlesnake before.

I took the cover off the bbq, and then went back in to get food. Less than 5 minutes later, I came back out with the food, set it on the side of the bbq...and then heard the rattling. Scared the hell out of me...my wife heard me say holy fuck inside the house over the music playing.

We used a rake to push it out from under the bbq. He coiled up in to his striking position, then we used the rake to pin his head down, and the shovel to whack him.

My wife loves all animals, even snakes, it bothered her to help me do it, but we had to. Too many kids and dogs around our place. I hate snakes...all snakes, I must have whacked him 25 times with the shovel...and saying fuck snakes over and over. Lol

We used the body to reinforce our dogs rattle snake training as well.

That's what I've tried to explain to people. Been a lot of years ago, but first time I had one rattle at me was while turning on a sprinkler valve in my avocado grove. I heard it rattle and I suddenly found myself transported by some unseen force, several feet away  First time hearing one rattle, yet by instinct I knew ---- It was only then that I saw him, almost wrapped around the base of the valve, he was so well camouflaged. I kill three or four a year, but usually see and dispatch them before they light off.

No shit!?. Wd40 on the stings? Hate those bastards. Its even more creepy to see them at night with the black lights all glowing. Ive had conflicting info on them.. I always thought the smaller yellowish/clear ones were the most dangerous... Then my neighbors told me the darker bark scorpions are worse.. ? I have a bunch of the smaller yellowish ones by my pad in parker.

That rattle is Indescribable to anybody that hasn't heard it... Talk about a holy shit moment in time. Feels like every ounce of adrenaline in your body is dumped directly into your heart, and there is no fight in the fight-or-flight response...

Its a trip how they glow with the black light. Even the brown ones we caught last trip glowed. Kids had a blast scorpion hunting. There are a lot of them sometimes best not to show some they won't want to go back to the river again.
