Damage to our lakes from boats

I had some lady taking me out last night. I run the Boyne Thunder FB page. She asked me what Boyne Thunder was going to do to repair the damage they have done to the Lake. We are damaging the ECO system. I have lived here all my life. I boat 6 times a week during the summer. I see no shore erosion and never have seen anything dead floating after Boyne Thunder weekend. She claims the noise and vibration is killing off the lake. I have been helping put this run on for 21 years. I deleted the conversation, there was no way you can carry a two way conversation on with a radical person. I'm sure they will start showing up with signs. I'm sorry if we killed a fish, but the smile on the face of the child with cancer is more important to me.

Do they allow Wakeboats on your lake? If so, tell her to go check out the rollers they throw everywhere, should keep her busy for awhile............

It looks like the majority of the boating is on Lake Michigan?

Did you ask her about the 750+ shipwrecks on Lake Michigan? How many were coal fed? Diesel?

Did you ask her about the invasive Quagga and Zebra mussels that have been brought to the great lakes in ships ballast tanks, from Russia and Ukraine in the 1980s? The entire commercial fishing industry is affected.
And how that has spread to the Southwest, and most other parts of the West?

I have pulled several duties for the last 21 years. Early on in the event I was a Marshall boat by Hemingway Point. Lady was paddling straight out to line of boats. Told me she would be fine, she’s good with rough water. I talked her into turning around.

I know it won't end well but I really want to punch some of these Karens out, especially when they start touching my possessions in any way (ie kicking my vehicle or touching it) or jabbbing fingers into my chest or close to my face, or generally trying to interrupt or block me from completing a task I am engaged in (fueling a boat or vehicle for example).

My wife is a boating nut. She is a few years younger than me. I come home dead tired and she looks at me and says we’re boating, aren’t we. I suck it up and dump the boat in. I’m a very lucky guy. The guys that know me will back my statement up. I live across the street from the ramp.

I have resorted to extreme ridicule with these type of people.

My method is to remember to think a few seconds before I respond giving my adrenaline and my thoughts a second or two to equalize which gives you more opportunity to say things in a way that can cut them right to the bone. There is nothing I find more satisfying than to stay calm while making a lunatic reveal the depths of their stupidity, ignorance and selfishness entitled little feeble mind for everyone to see.

Ridicule is the way.
